The knee-jerk reaction might be a "huh-huh! MS sucks goats, Beavis!", but anything to add to the, ahem, blogosphere is probably a good thing for us all. 99% of it will be dross, but a handfull of good writing-type people (ie, not me) will appear on MSN Spaces, and we'll all be better for it.
Apart from Cable customers, I challenge you to identify the location of any UK (and probably other European) residential user to within 100km based on their IP.
Umm - they are a success. They turned down an invitation to join Apple from Mr. Jobs himself because they decided they'd be happier working for themselves.
They're sufficiently evolved (devolved?) to realise money != happiness.
While you're at it, explain to me how it's right for the Guardian to encourage its UK readers, i.e., not US citizens, to start a letter writing and email campaign to Ohioans encouraging them to vote for John Kerry
I thought Americans were pretty keen on a concept called "free speech"?
Even with all the bad press about the source of the water, Coke soldiered on with the launch of Dasani. What forced them to withdraw it were the fears that it may be carcinogenic:
"Something had gone wrong at the Dasani factory and a bad batch of minerals had contaminated the water production with a potentially carcinogenic bromate. Coke admitted defeat. Immediately they withdrew all 500,000 bottles of Dasani in circulation."
I just got myself some Torx screwdriver heads at lunch time to fix a flickering iBook screen. It's not the dodgy screen hinge problem, but the more obscure video chip flexing out of the MB problem...
Now to invoke my Google-fu powers to find the page that described exactly how to fix the problem.
The Earth Simulator may look sexy (if you're in to that kind of thing) and have 10 TB of memory and all that, but even that would be insufficient for Sims 2 to play properly. Erm, so I imagine...
I wonder how much boardroom time was wasted on trying to decided whether to announce the "Outshine Google" press release or the "Continue to Be Google's Bitches" press release?
Thank god there are highly paid staff in place at Ask Jeeves who can make the right decisions for the stockholders!
Name me a UK bank that does 0% on credit cards for a cash advance.
Anyone who refers to money as moula is not getting their hands on my moula.
Interestingly/amusingly/somethingly, ThinkSecret has posted more "rumours" since the lawsuit was announced:
$149 1GB iPod is coming
Slight variant on the above:
My guess is they've gone and built a computer that they can make a comfortable profit on at $500.
And now they're currently trying to work out how much extra they can charge for the first 6 months or so while demand is high.
$100 extra x 1 million units buys a lot of black polo neck shirts.
I'd prefer to have an enter key rather than a mp3 phone anyday.
See?
I win!
Maybe it's too complicated for a grandfather to use?
It's fradulent. You can (and will) be caught and booted eventually.
I'll see your MSN Spaces, and raise you some free wordpress hosting.
Weee!

People do live outside your country, you know...
Richard Bacon did this on (I think) Sky channel 247. "Flipside TV".
Oh, and looky loo, Flipside TV has been picked up by Comedy Central in the US and Bacon is expected to front it.
Someone warn the kinky prostitutes.
Oh, and the best thing on TV? Check out ch 695 on Sky.
Australia's not part of the rest of the world? It's Holden over there (cue post-war advertisment song: "Holdin' you in my Holden...")

Oh, and it's Opel, not Opal:

Oh, and a quick Google has the BBC dispelling the story of the Russian's naming their station phonetically after Vauxhall station:

My day is ruined.

You insensitive clod! What if i'm on a 300 baud acoustic coupler?
Say whatever you like (everyone else does during an election) - i'm still free to place my vote as I see fit.

Oh - hang on... What year is it again?
And that's set up a China style firewall around the entire country & limit its citizens information access within its own borders
Here's a fun game to play for those of you outside of the US - try to go to http://www.georgewbush.com/

Coke's Water Bomb
It's hard to market something as super-pure water when the papers are saying it may be carcinogenic. Oops.

Anyone know what i'm talking about?
You might want to apply some lube before the MPAA finds you...
...at a decent frame rate?

Anyone know what it plays like on this new thing?
press release and pics
"Looks to Outshine Google"? Well i'll be...

It's something to do with magic and/or capacitance sensors, apparently.
Starting blogs is fun! But then again, I would say that...
I'd be more worried about the space alien zombies that might come down and eat your brain while you're filling out that form.
Phew. So many things to worry about. I need to have a rest now.
