Exactly, it is an amazing amount of money for a 19yo. Which is why I don't feel so badly about it. How does a 19yo get this kind of money? If he weren't so spoiled and actually had to buy his own things then the settlement would have only been for $3k, and along the way he would have learned to appreciate what he's worked for instead of just being given everything.

And don't tell me that he had no idea what was going on. Chances are he was blabbing to his friends about how easy it is to use his little tool he made to find ANY files.

Internships are great for meeting quotas because the money often comes out of a different pot than regular salaries. Of course, don't expect them to actually get any work done, they'll be too busy going to diversity meetings and having their picture taken to be placed on brochures.

Doesn't save space? A typical roller-coaster will ride around 30 people at once. You can easily fit over 100 of these things in an area the size of some of the mega coasters.

That being said, the only thing that this has in common with a roller-coaster is that they put coaster in its name. For the category of rides that this really fits into you may be right, 2 people isn't very many and compared to those rides it may have a very good hourly capacity.

Come on people, it's obvious that the only real workable solution in the forseable future is nukes. Of course the tricky part is detonation at the appropriate time. Afterall, we're talking about a closure rate that is incredible (100k+ km/hr?).

Those who claim that the smaller pieces will be just as destructive as the whole are stopping the scenario short. You don't just shoot and hit with one or more at the same time. Over some amount of time you continously hit it with nukes, breaking the smaller pieces into still smaller until the pieces are either too small to do massive damage or blow out of our path.

In my opinion, all of these exotic solutions are a waste of time and money. Hell, at this point even the nuke solution isn't very feasible and considering the chances of being hit not a very good way to spend money.
