I'm also not a Civil Engineer, but I can think of a couple.
Maintenance, you could work on one and run both lanes of traffic over the other bridge.
Safety, having a 2 curves in each direction would be less safe in icy weather.
The bridges may not have been built at the same time.
Now that I think about it, where I live, large bridges are usually one structure (think over the Mississippi river) smaller ones (over a stream or RR Tracks) are separate bridges. There must be a dividing point depending on the type of structure where it's more cost effective.

There was an Air Combat game in the early nineties where you played a mercenary pilot. You COULD use a heat seeking missile to take out one of the enemy planes, but it sure was a lot cheaper to switch to guns, maneuver around and get the kill.
With the extra money you can hire wingmen, buy better planes, etc.
Question - when did Intel hire SpongeBob and Patrick to start naming their processors
The Sesame Street group (286, 386, 486, Pentium one two three four) retired. After all they've both been at it about the same amount of time (intel 1968, SS 1969)
One of the rent-to-own places sells dell computers, i think its Aaron's, they advertise them and they are about double what you should be paying.
EVERYTHING at "Rent-to-own" stores is like that. For some reason people find it easier to pay $13/week for two years for a furniture set instead of setting aside the same amount for one year.
Just another example of the poor being kept poor by lousy decision making skills. Another example is trailer houses that are so cheap to live in, but heating costs $650/month in the dead of winter, which enought to heat a small, well-insulated home for an entire season.
GN Doesn't make a lot of money off the Corvette, (actually, they don't make a lot of money on ANYTHING, but that's not the point) but they still have it to bring people in and give them a higher thing to dream for. At least in the past you could put them in a Camaro for half the price.
Imagine a 6-7 year-old seeing some fantastic mindstorms creation. They pick up a couple of basic sets, graduate to Technic, then Mindstorms.
Now that would be funny: Boss Nass as Vader!
And after he says the line he shakes his jowels and makes the "Bluh Bluh Bluh BLuh Bluh Bluh" sound.
That, I would pay money for.
Service is how small local retailers can make a difference over the big box stores.
I was price shopping for appliances for our new home and yes, Best Buy's prices were slightly less, but they charged extra for delivery, install and removal of the old applicances (if needed), which the local guys did for free. Yes, you could save money from Besy Buy if you have a large truck, dollys, etc, but it was less than $50, and the profits don't stay in town.
For $250, I'd be expecting Madonna to give me a blowjob at the very least.
Are you with the Detroit Pistons?
I know, old joke.

You're thinking of Phil Mickelson. He's a lefty, so he has one for right -> left and one for left -> right. He won the masters a few weeks ago, so it might have helped. Since one is only allowed 14 clubs, he had to give up one.
Now, if you are right and Tiger is doing that too, we may just be seeing a change in how the pros play.
we may say "alewds", but we type it "eludes" :^)
In response to the philosophy you posted I have the reply:
(Warren)"Buffett announced in June that he will give away more than 80% or about $37 billion of his $44 billion fortune to five foundations"
The second wealthiest person on the planet has a different outlook than the people you talk. They could learn something from him.

Let's see how things end up at the end of the year. The article mentioned that intel's had to cut prices, that'll really cut into their profits.
The Sesame Street group (286, 386, 486, Pentium one two three four) retired. After all they've both been at it about the same amount of time (intel 1968, SS 1969)
It won't be on the existing iPod chips, it'll be on intel's low power chips (the embedded-type stuff)
Just curious, how did you get them apart? Torsion? Heat one side?
2002 was the last year for the Prism.
Deer Hunter had terrible looking graphics, poor game play and it still sold well.

Alec Baldwin's only in 3 minutes of Glengarry Glen Ross, but after that speech, you end up thinking he's the star of the movie!
MEn with beards have everything they want!
Maybe I shouldn't give George any ideas.
The disturbing thing is that someone went through the trouble of making it look "torn-out"

Good Luck finding 512 MB RD RAM for $40. Not all PCs were on PC-100. For that matter, good luck finding 512 MB of PC 100 for $40

Geek Squad was an outfit in the Twin Cities, which is also where Best Buy is HQ'd. They weren't "created" buy Best Buy.

MS doesn't really 'make' any of those products.
Usually "New" actually means "Beta"
