  1. Why did they bother? on G4 Drops TechTV Name · · Score: 1

I liked TechTV just like it was. These guys must be in cahoots with the people at FOX that cancelled Firefly, Futurama, and Family Guy. Farking Idiots. (I see an F pattern here)

What the crap did they get for thier purchase of TechTV? The title of a show (The Screensavers) and a bunch of alienated viewers. Big Whoop.

  2. There is no good music today... on Music Downloading not Entirely to Blame · · Score: 2, Interesting

...the good RIAA sanctioned music stopped at about 94.

Actually I have heard a lot of better music coming from the Indy space (ie. podcasts)
    From Garageband.com or Magnatune.

  3. Re:FM Tuner? on Rumors of Next Generation of Ipods · · Score: 1

Who cares. FM is garbage mostly now. That is why I bought the iPod so I could carry all my music with me so I could avoid the frikin' radio. Radio is dead.

  4. Strange... on Reading Slashdot From Strange Locations · · Score: 1

    I don't read Slashdot.

  5. Do they have it under control? on Democratic Convention Computer Security Threat? · · Score: 1

But Garcia insisted the Democrats have the computer security situation well in hand, with the help of security specialists from Cisco Systems Inc. and Microsoft Corp.

    Ahh... Ok.

    BTW:Interesting Article.

  6. Re:Man! on iPod Generation 4 Released · · Score: 1

Interesting. Post back here after your exchange if you dont mind... I am interested to find out.

  7. Re:Man! on iPod Generation 4 Released · · Score: 1

I called the local apple store, and they said exchanges are fine but a restocking fee of 10% will apply. Who is exchanging yours for free?

  8. Man! on iPod Generation 4 Released · · Score: 3, Funny

I just got a 15g for my Wife for her birthday earlier this month.

    Damn you Jobs!
(Ok... the one I got is still cool, though)

  9. Re:Optimized for Broadband ? on Blinkx and You Won't Miss It · · Score: 1

Translation: More crud we can shove down your pipe.

  10. Not a threat if... on Blinkx and You Won't Miss It · · Score: 4, Interesting

...it is "Optimized for IE & Broadband Users". Google is not so.

  11. Re:Ah... I can't... oh no... on Doom 3 Reaches Gold Master, Due August 5th · · Score: 1

Yea, but Doom 3 is here.

  12. Atari 2600 Pacman on Rare East German Arcade Game Unearthed · · Score: 1

In the screenshot it resembles that old Atari Pacman. Ahh the memories....

  13. Give it a rest. on Star Trek XI: Romulan Wars? · · Score: 1

They need to either give Star Trek something fresh (and I mean something better than interesting), or put it on a shelf for a while. I think that they need some new hands on this franchise. I mean Nemisis was crap. Why was that dude pissed at Picard? Because he got a bum deal in life. Hell, Picard had nothing to do with that. Look at Kahn. He had a reason to be pissed as Kirk. I think B & B need to let someone else drive if they are going forward on a new Trek.

  14. Ironic on Commodore - Back In The Hardware Biz At Last? · · Score: 1

The first time I heard real digitized music come from a computer was from my Commodore 64. It was a screwed up version of Kung Fu Fighting. It would play about 45secs just about the time he kicks in and says "Everybody was Kung Fu...." then you would here this BLAAHHHHHH. I think the file was corrupt. Did anyone else have that same file? I kept listening to it over and over because I was amazed that such digitized audio could come from the 64. (This was pre Amiga)

  15. Welcome Them? on Mutation Creates SuperKid · · Score: 1

"I, for one, welcome our new myostatin-free overlords."

I think that you only welcome them because they could beat you up.

  16. Who Cares? on Recording Industry Hopes To Hinder CD Burning · · Score: 1

All the good music is already out. I believe most decent music stopped around 1994.

They can copy-restrict Britney Spears all they want.

  17. If I heard right... on TechTV.com RIP · · Score: 1

The other night, I watched The Screensavers, and I believe that Patrick said that they were migrating all of the old info to the new site.

BTW Last week was awesome with thier Washington trip. (going to the FCC, NSA, and the Nation Archives) I believe on June 1st is a special with all of the Washington stuff.

  18. Lava Surfing? on Star Wars Episode III : Birth Of The Empire · · Score: 1

It all makes sense, here you go:

With Ep2:Attack of the Clones title, Lucas was shooting for harkening back to the B-Scifi Movies.

With Ep3: BotE we have moved along to harkening back to the 60's with the beach fight scenes and surfing, only with lava.

    Presto!

  19. End of this Season... on UPN Renews 'Star Trek: Enterprise' · · Score: 2, Interesting

I have to say that towards the end of this season it has kept my interest. I was starting to tire of the whole story arc with the xindi, but the story has picked up steam. I am glad it is staying.

I liked that in some aspects that Archer was willing to set his P.C. outlook on some things to get stuff done.

BTW:I don't care what night it is on, that is why I have Tivo.

  20. Re:HomeBrewers Device on Keeping Your Keg Cool Sans Ice · · Score: 1

If I remember right, you aren't supposed to cool your stuff down too much during fermintation. You are just supposed to keep it in a cool dark place. Wouldn't it slow the process if it was too cool?

I may be wrong, it has been a while.

  21. College Years on Keeping Your Keg Cool Sans Ice · · Score: 3, Funny

I dont remember my kegs sitting around long enough to see room temprature, of course, I dont remember.

  22. Re:Lets see if we can /. on H2G2 Film Website · · Score: 3, Funny

  23. When do you have the time? on Sony PC/DVR Incorporates 7 Tuners & 1TB HD · · Score: 2, Insightful

I have a Tivo, which is great and all with 2 tuners. However, all that time that I am doing other things while the Tivo is working cuts into my time that I start watching the tube. Then I have a lot of 'whatever' to watch. I think that 7 shows at once is a little too much...and my 100g drive that came in my Tivo is plenty. (Atleast for me)

  24. Re:BFD on Linspire Accused Of Misusing Creative Commons Art · · Score: 1

You are wrong. Art is not a simple matter of display. Some people actually try to make money off of their art and its not fair that people should get to use it and make money off of it without the author seeing a penny.

Please don't lecture me about Art. I come from a line of Artists. I too am a cartoonist. However, if he is posting something on Kde-look.org don't think that he had the expectation that the money is going to start flowing. I mean if you post something on kde-look.org, it is for sharing.

Fair enough that Lindows should have contacted him (but that is a stretch), but why didn't the guy that took time to make a page about it contact Lindows? I don't believe that there was a (C) on it at the time of use. BTW I dont see Lindows raking in the dough from this either. It is in a presentation for gosh sakes.

BTW keep focus with your direction in your posts. You are talking about a Job situation. I was talking about a website where people post things to share.

  25. BFD on Linspire Accused Of Misusing Creative Commons Art · · Score: 2, Interesting

So what. I made Icons that are all over the place, and I dont care. If he didn't have a CC license on it before, they were probably used then. Besides, Lindows sponsers the kde-look.org. He ought to be happy that they give him and others a place to display their work.

Also who is this guy that made the webpage? Is he speaking for the author? Where is the Authors response?

BTW: Did anyone contact Linspiredows a call before flipping out about it?
