At least I had been into it until this weeks episode. It felt a little deflated.
For me what peaked my interest was when they started to set out on the whole story arc with the Xindi, the expanse, and the devistation on earth with a 9/11 twist. Everyone had a little different approach to dealing with the massive loss of life.
I will continue to watch and I for one hope that they do not pull the plug. However, in the same breath, I think that they do need to back off a little on the whole Star Trek Universe. Nemisis did suck, not as bad as ST:5 though.
Looking for these type parts are nothing but headaches. I suggest going to Barnes and Noble, and spend $25 bucks for the Linux Toys book, and make the Picture frame project.
I think that they should look to Scifi for inspiration... Wasn'r R2 *designed* for most of what they are talking about? Maybe they can go ahead and make C3PO while they are at it, or lightsabers. That would scare the shiat out of the enemy...
I have seen an ATM with a blue screen. I am not making this up. My normal ATMs that I use I can her that windows click like windows makes when you hit links and things.
Why 802.11? Here is a link to FM Transmitters for about I use my zaurus to control my PC playlist using Wifi and hear it using a transmitter talking to my radio.
Open OS/2 Up? I mean dumping something like that into opensource could help the Wine guys out, right?
I mean, how about getting back to MS. IBM and MS worked together on the Win32, and since MS screwed them, how about putting it our there for all of the GNU/World to see?
I bought a ATI Wonder VE from best buy, and It works perfect with Video4Linux, No Problems. Redhat saw it and ran with it. ($49 bucks with $10 rebate) XawTV worked perfect.
I too am trying to make a video recorder. I installed *shutter* Windows to try the software from ATI, it isn't bad, but it is a little buggy. However I used Nero to burn VCDs.
I am working on a web interface (for my linux box) for selecting channels and format to record in, and also working with Lirc to make a 'remote' to changed the channels on my Directtv when time to record.
I plan on using my Zaurus as a 'remote' to control the recorder.

I am in the NC / SC area. Now in all fairness, I do talk some people into using PHP, but it isn't hard. I mean the benefits of not having to be Platform dependant is appealing to most (Cost is a big factor too).
I talked the Law firm that I work with into using PHP for our Intranet about 2 years ago (when we were doing a re-write) and we dumped ColdFusion. (I dont like having to pay for upgrades on the servers, although I know that the firm I am with could easily afford it) Now, I have an Extranet, and Intranet, and our external site with PHP/ Mysql.
There is Web Devel work in my area, and a lot are receptive to PHP. No doubt. It just makes better sense.

Are you kidding? I work at a law firm full time, and that is all we use. PHP is all I get requests for now, for outside work. (Actually less and less ASP crap, and no Cold Fusion)
BURN ALL JPEGS!
There is a joke in here somewhere about the esa using the code to actually get a lander on Mars, in one piece. Ok, that was uncalled for.
Are you sure about that? ;-)

That is why he is a senator, and not an IT guy. He obviously doesn't understand the technology.
They are not planning on producing them.. but I bet there are a bunch of them flying around over at HP. (looking in the windows)
I can see an Epson exec saying... 'I wish I was a fly on the wall...'
I know that these guys have seen it..but they didn't learn that YOU JUST CAN'T DO THAT without consequences.
...Msoft try to convert all those linux boxen to Winders. It's like Hotmail all over again.
Apparently Bill G. just ran MS Office for the first time, to just now be coming out and saying that sort of stuff... which makes my other point.
People at MS apparently dont use thier own stuff. If they did, IE wouldn't be the crap it is today.

...300,000 channels to shiat to choose from...
However I would like to register high.iq
...coming from them.
Was just explaining how he does this on The Screensavers last night.
...isn't run on M$-SQL.
Are they admining the Satelites with Webmin now?
...and they are taking this in front of the UN Security Council as we speak.
