I can count more unemployed MIT grads in today's economy than hair on my head. No, I am not bald.
It's articles like this pointing MIT #1 that forces so many employers to fear hiring these engineers nowadays. They are so smart that if they innovate something... they are considered a waste.
-a web browser better than IE. -an office suite that is solid and universally good within all flavors of unix -can run a real database commerically -1 and only 1 good interface
Solaris, AIX, SGI, linux they can all do some well... but only M$ can do it ALL.
We had a breakin in my old company from within. Then the network admins and IT folks REALLY ramped up security internally.
The result was a nasty secureID method which changed passwords every 30 seconds. Your password would synchronize against some solar server etc etc. The number of times you need that 2 lb. keychain to log into the unix systems drove people crazy. Eventually people just didn't log out.... leading to ANOTHER security hazard.
If anyone has ever played (nevermind finish cause the game wasn't all that common) Target Earth, it has the best ending.
For a no-game made by dreamworks not comprised of big name music composer on the genesis 16bit, this ending was insane.
The music was superb as you are the last mech the leave this giant bosses body. You are walking out of the mech without a mech suit, some chics thinking about you at base. You fleet shows up...
But the lighting is done in such a way that you know the war will never end.
* You install windows, you install novell dir trees. * You install solaris, you install novell dir trees.
From an architectural standpoint Novell is NOT an OS. It's a directory service like NIS, active directory. It's the only OS on the planet that requires another OS. lol
I helped this old lady on some freelance work way back with Corel wordperfect. Was that a mistake. Here are some questions I got...
-Why didn't Corel wordperfect come with a pen? -Where do I buy ink if the typewriter runs out of ink? -If I press delete does that delete everything? -I heard it comes with a dictionary. Can I upgrade to an encyclopedia set? -Does this program open on sundays and saturdays?
The other day my little cousin sat down and made some music for the fun of it. He's had piano lessons for about 2 years.
After listening to his cheesy demo more and more.... I sadly came to realize this 10 year old made better music than half the main stream industry today.
I download different songs as a different nick onto a different folder on different days using different computers running different OSes wearing different clothes under a different IP via dhcp.
Back in 2000 Abit boards are very innovative with their ATA100 raid, insane number of ISA+PCI+AGP in one board. Damn I was jealous as hell and finally bought one too.
I know someone who purchased the ABIT KA7-100 motherboard in 2000 also. I cannot tell you how many times this board has fried on us and been returned via warranty.
Any real serious audience will want something more stable along the ASUS line.
The game will be just like Americas Army.
Except you control soldiers running away from Iraqi republic guards and pouring american beverage down the sewers for points.

I will sue the electric company until I own rights to the lightbulb. 8D
So it now claims to support PDAs and vibrators... how many versions of window will M$ need to get it right.
An even more stable winXP for home use would have been a better OS. Cause we know those damn patches ain't cutting it.
Until the unix world can manufacture...

Do you people realize that few companies have ever bounced back from a failure of a couple consoles.
1.) Sega... failed SegaCD, 32X, Dreamcast. Result... Many sega games available to other consoles
2.) Atari... failed later 8-bit systems, Jaguar. Result... Many atari exclusives like pitfall ended up on other systems.
Guess what... nintendo is on track right about now. And it's good news to see metroid + fzero on ps2.
Damn, if only my power was up, it would have gotten here in time.
Last thing I need is a supercomputer that checks email at a high speed, and a separate computer that does wordprocessing even faster.
/. all in one box.
I am one of those people with maxed out PCI cards, maxed out SCSI buses and everything jammed into one PC.
Work, pr0n, email,
* You install windows, you install novell dir trees.
* You install solaris, you install novell dir trees.

I argue sometimes that corporations and 8 layers of politics are a bad place to design software.
But it's infeasible to get the kind of resources like a tape library, a giant SAN devices or an expensive switch in your bedroom.
At the end of the day open source programmers are happy, but they will always be limited by their own wallet.
Does it take to discover bending cables are bad?

Disney is using this opportunity to market Micky Mouse over the infamous linux penguin.

- No it's not mary had a little lamb.
Tired of looking at the same 8000 identical models of silver nissan ultimas, followed by red ford taurus.
No wonder truck drivers fall asleep. It's like counting sheeps.
I would really like to be an indie game developer. It's there like a 3D engine for free for noobs like me?
I download different songs

Come find me ~

Middle East has everything we'd want. Oil, wmd, sunshine.
Nuff said.
THank goodness for years I have been relying on dilbert comics as a religious alternative ~

I knew terminator 3 wasn't that original. ;)
You mean to tell me developers have nothing else to improve?
1.) How about downloading 8 million different versions of java.
2.) How about getting java and macromedia applets etc all working the same.
3.) Damn html looks different on every browser nowadays.
4.) How about stop pointing fingers at M$ and opera and fix your **** up, so we can have a decent alternative.
