While I do agree with you. I can't help but think TCP/IP in general is too old school that it needs 3 layers of cake of protection. Some future IPv# version has got to address these complexity problems.
Nintendo is fighting Sony with 4 handhelds at the same time: Gameboy, GBA, GB color, DS. Not to mention, Nintendo will have the new Nes Micro handheld next year.
Can you imagine 5 handhelds vs. the PSP alone. That's unbelievable competition. Keep in mind, the PSP isn't even Sony's flagship product. Sony's flagship product is the PS2/PS3. The flagship product usually have the best game for the company. The DS is Nintendo's flagship.
The bot concept does not make sense. Are we counting JOBS or POSITIONS?
Some IT jobs make you the webmaster, network guy, database guy and janitor. Other jobs just leave you a single position and hit deep. How can the bot be intelligent enough to separate?!
There was a software out there called NTswitch. M$ fought very hard and quietly underground to keep this program out of Internet's reach. With 1 click it modifies all the necessary keys in the registry and you get whatever version you want after reboot.
Your link is a typical M$ defense using NT4.0 to prove different versions are different, because quite frankly NT4.0 WAS the last version that had a different architecture. That's why there was no NTswitch for NT4.0.
Win2000, 2003, XP versioning is all the same shit, different registry keys. They bundle different garbage, so consumers can't tell skin deep.
That is the single craziest article link. Most people would not have guessed the armish culture is this fucked up in policing themselves. I knew they were out-of-ordinary, but rape for breakfast is ridiculous.
Their current Linux on Altix hardware is at least an attempt by the company to bounce toward the Linux direction. But the way they are doing it is unbelievably risky.
They are taking the heart of the kernel portion, ripping it out and make it run on their SGI Altix hardware. In the end you really have nothing special but regular Linux and modified kernel. Basically you can now pay $$$$ for the same Linux OS on Altix hardware. Whereas the Linux x86 on PC is free. If PC become as powerful as Altix one day, they are toast.
Nothing is going to happen while Bush and Chaney has dips in the political office writing giant tax-dollar-sucking unnecessary oil consulting projects for Halliburton. Well, somebody's got to say it.
The only difference between Windows Advanced Server, Server, Professional is 1 registry key.
M$ is the same company that oversell you what you need. In theory they can just let you download a longhorn kernel to plugin to an existing XP box. But it's better business sense for them to charge you an OS monopolistic price at $200.
Oh man that game would be a top seller. Can't wait till the sequel. What would the Add-on pack come with? New weapons such as chain whip with a morning star. Bonus stage in hell where you fight mr diablo himself.
I don't know who to defend. M$ or the PHD grad? I have seen some of the smartest people from universities go work for M$ and absolutely just sit at the bottom of the pile.
They have no real projects, assignments nor are they developing any real skills for their next resume. Whose fault is it that the PHD grad gets mad?? You be the judge.
Yeah I saw all those HL2 and ATI compatibility and I flocked out to get a 9800 Radeon 128MB way before the game came out.
I am on my 3rd replacement under warranty now since it fried so many times on me in 1 and a half year. Had I known Nvidia would have had equal performance, I would not have rushed out like this. This is probably my last ATI card EVER due to extreme disappointment with the stock fans overheating.
I am pissed that Eclipse didn't work out of the box for fedora core 4. Apparently checking out different forums, many people got the OS to crash completely from running Eclipse.
How the hell did redhat become as unstable as windows nowadays. Dare I say "enterpri$e" edition.
Ok, when a company tells you they had a staff of a million people working on games, it's total BS.
Game companies like to tell you these things so you feel "SPECIAL". Like your product took the efforts of thousands, and you feel great. In reality, some intern highschool kid added a 1 line of comment, and he could have been considered +1 to the headcount.
Look at the game credit for ANY GAME, that's where the real count usually is. Marketers always tell you this game is bigger, badder, had a huge workforce working on it. They count publishers, people minting CDs, people catering lunch etc etc etc.
While firefox is great, I still think they should address the memory leak bug before porting it so many places. Does anyone else see their CPU skyrocket to 100% on certain websites?
Man! That video was bad ASS! After watching that, I said I don't give a fuck if it's fake. I want a revolution now!
Music was fantastic. It wasn't lame like every other real nintendo Ad. It had style, pumps you up, it wasn't targeted toward 5 year olds. This deceptive marketing needs to be done more often. I was sold, and nintendo marketing need to sit in a classroom and learn from this artist.
Employers are not right, but neither are the father/husband.
Why should your co-worker who are "single" be satisfied with working 80 hrs? Being a husband/father should never be an excuse for you to work less. YOU chose to be one, no one forced you to make your own life difficult.
Working 80 hrs a week is not good, but being a father shouldn't get special treatment. Everyone knows you're not taking your kids to baseball games every night. Instead going home to watch TV and have a beer.
To blame napster for poisoning the well is just too much. Shawn Fanning was just some 19-year old college kid on a pet project. I don't think anyone looked that far ahead.
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv9 China is already working on IPv9? I don't even know who to believe anymore. Why not just wait till IPv100 at this rate.
Doesn't matter what channel they show it on.... as long as they don't butcher it. US basic cable channels have a nasty habit of modifying contents to some lame degree.
It doesn't matter if we punch in $20,000 or $50,000 or $100,000. The only important thing anyone needs to know out of the result... you are buying less for your dollar in 2005 than in 2004. Most U.S salaries including non-ITs are absolutely unportional to the economy.
Average joe need to spend almost 70-80% of the their paycheck to maintain the same standard of living. Of course that is unless you got rich in the.com boom or spoiled the real estate market at your investment expense. In that case, none of this applies to you. Happy 4th.

I thought only Windows screens were blue.

I am more worried that this becomes a new haven for the IRS to set online gaming taxes. It's the perfect place for IRS to start.
- Lots of chaos
- Lots of money
- Lots of young people with no idea how to fend off IRS
- Lots of people doing this for a living.
There is no online tax now, but this shit gives congress plenty of Ammo.

Every console launch from Sony has been delayed at least once by some small degree. PS3 should be no different.

Of course Gates is against Borg implants.
He can't dominate a world where people's brain are always in Beta mode, buggy and always crash.
