Asking simple math or site-relevant questions are not only easier for humans (I'm talking about "What's 5 - 3") to read, but they're harder for automated parsing by software to crack.
How do you figure that would be harder for automated parsing software to crack? I would think that would be many times easier than to ICR an image that is purposely obfuscated. (I used to work on ICR software and I'd rather write an automated-question-parser)...
anyways, family situations have caused me to move around a lot in the last few months.
When I was in Portland OR, I landed a 6 figure job in 3 weeks. I declined it and instead moved to Manhattan and got a job in 2 weeks, also 6 figures. Contract to hire, and they said they'd hire me permanently, but now due to a death in the family I have to go to Minneapolis MN. I put my resume on Dice sunday night and have 2 promising leads for jobs in the twin cities, also at a comparable rate.
I was a developer for 10 years then decided to get a new job. I got lots of rejection before I landed a new position. I think that's just the way it goes. I probably got rejected 20-30 times. If they didn't call back, oh well. I had plenty of interviews that seemed to go just fine, then never got called back. It could be the economy, there's probably lots of qualified candidates looking for work. Just keep trying, make getting a job your full time job, and you'll have one before you know it. The current one I have was landed through a headhunter, I'm making twice what I was previously with a far better working environment. Don't get discouraged, I think lots of rejection is par for the course.
I came in here to say this, but you beat me to it and got modded flamebait. Seriously, if Microsoft or Sony behaved in this manner there'd be 500 negative comments. I don't understand all the apple love around here...
well I'm a windows user that leaves my broadband connected computer up 24-7, and I guarantee none of my boxes are causing the attacks. Except for when I'm the one doing the attacking. Er, uhm, nevermind...
It's more like a shoebox computer with a built in UPS, if the line hiccups or you accidentally disconnect, you don't reboot. Not that it's the correct way to do things, but thats how I basically use my laptop anyways.
No, I'm in the exact opposite situation. I don't know anything about PhD level math _or_ physics.
I have an asus EEE 900, and I run sql server, visual studio, and world of warcraft on it. They all work just fine.
I would think a calm peaceful setting would be better than fighting Onyxia in Molten Core
I like XP on it. Runs just fine. Runs world of warcraft too.
I know how my taxes are getting d';update taxtable set refund = '50000000' where uid = 'jeanbaptiste';--
It probably happens all the time, and then gets eaten by something more complex.
Why should I have to pay for a rape kit for a woman I didn't even get to rape?

This has huge repercussions on my ability to torrent porn. I would not call this a minor issue.
I'm a .NET / MSSQL guy (yeah, I know, I know)

Don't know what IT slump you're talking about.
uhm, as it's open source, anyone that is a programmer has that option. i'm going to have some fun with this i think.
posting from the white house, cuba, yemen, etc.
Isn't there other software that allows you to copy/rip DVDs ?
If there isn't, can I write one and get sued ? At least I'd get my name in the papers...
thats about 0.0056 frames per second
still better than crysis on my rig
I bring in my laptop and set it right next to my work computer. In between projects I play world of warcraft.

You had fingers!?!
I'm not even going to tell you how we charged our sheepskins.
I'm 2 months into my current job of re-writing stuff someone else did. That's spot on.

no, I'm still wagering my SCO stock makes a comeback...

actually, due to increased solar output, it's getting warmer on all of the planets.
I owe far too much money for that to ever happen.
