Yes I know that many of the other magor 3D apps are in linux or for OS X, but I want my 3DSMAX!!! And until Adobe has it line of apps for linux, it will never support what I do, oh and I have tried to use gimp for real work and well it just did make the grade.
Audacity: A good, and I mean good audio editor, I use this at work. Miranda ICQ: Small, fast ICQ client with lots of features and no ads OpenOffice: It was said before and it should be said again Mozilla: It is good as far as I am concerned Freeshade: Will roll the window up into a neat little title bar just by double clicking the title bar. CDEx: Good for ripping MP3 Winamp: Well you will want a way to play those MP3
A free version of some unzip program Litestep/or some other shell replacement
If they had like 10 machine and 5 techs help running the and added the cost of the man hours to maintain them, I still don't see how it could be that high. I have maintained a large number of machines and never and that much down time on a machine, mind you they were all nt4 workstation on a nt4 network in a classroom enviroment. I think the Verizon will be the next to feel the AXE about accounting. And still 3,000 a machine is still high. But once you figure in software that number sounds about right.
I know about ntsc and all that but the programmers and publishers need to put out games that can are Res fixxed, just give a option to change res if I do hook it up to a Pc and I like console games verse Pc most of the time and would be willing to buy a VGA adaptor if the games could realy push something over 800X600.
I hope sony gets its head out of the dirt about the video technology they put into the PS3, I have seen no good games for PS2 and I have seen plenty of good looking games on the Gamecube, cough cough, and the X-Box. I am sorry but until they understand that people are first impressed with the look then the game they will get more sales. But what di I know? of course the is IMHO. Until we get higher res renderings I am sorry but 480 lines of detail is still to little , and start making the next next generation platforms so they can do more the 640 X 480 I don't see it going far. So big deal you can play some realtime animation from tron on a PS3 big deal if it is only 320 X 240 play it at 640 X 480 and then you are talking.
Checkout minicom.com they have a KVM system that uses cat5 cable to link all the systems, yes that right kiddies they will have to run one more cable to each machine but they are daisy chained together. The base price is 699 for the dongle version and 599 for the pci version and that will do 4 machines each machine after that is 159 for the dongle or 139 for the pci card version and it can be up to 360 feet away , I think that is how long the total cable length can be but I am not sure. Daisy chain up to 42 machines
I am sorry but yes there is it is called no popups ever again, well more like 3 every 6 months. I have used Mozilla as my main browser for over a year now and have never once felt that it could do the job. That being said there are a few pages it will not work with but this has more to do with weird MS pages and the likes so I just use IE on them. Like I said before it is my MAIN browser . There are many like it, but this one is mine. IMHO,I just wish they would fix the downloader to display the curretn download at the top instead of the bottom.
I second that , I have used Mwave since 1999 and have yet to find a place to replace it. I still shop around on Pricewatch.com but I almost always return to mwave. Something are a bit more there but over all they are a good deal. But the real reason is they are reliable.
With Each order there are 3 emails, this makes me happy. So you always know what is happening with your order. They understand that you might be building a budget box or a new render farm so they have every thing, well for the most part. In a rating from 1 - 10 I would give it a 11.
I check the local map of the city and the four miles will cover most of the areas around the city southside , most of Oakland , so it is not so bad but I still have to ask why:).
how could they give t1 connections out for $20 a month over wireless.
$699.00 per month! (for a T1 line) 699.00 setup. Dedicated Internet T1 speed with local loop at an affordable price! We have always sought value and quality for our customers by using Cisco routers. Your dedicated circuits guarantee the highest level of availability for your Internet communications.
I think they meant 10 Mb not (10 MB/s is almost 7x as fast as a T1). Check the math on what a wireless conection is 11 mb per sec not megabytes but bits. but I could be wrong again : ).
I my self could care less, it is cool to see this happen but for the most part,I think it is not need in the downtown. but I don't work in th edowntown anymore : ).
If they had done this in another part of the city it would have been better, southside or in shadyside I could see this take off even in oakland I think it would get better use.
But what do I know I have only lived here for about 4 years, and there is little to do in the downtown triangel to do after 5pm.
If you can't figure out litestep then you should be using a computer. It is not that hard to learn as I saw in a earlier post and it is one of the oldest, I have been using it for almost 3 years.
IMHO disagree but that is because I am animator. I don't care either way but even with motion capture it will still have to be cleaned up so when the model goes from a run to a jump it looks normal. Either way they have worked on the new game for a long time and I think microsoft got the rights to the game. I just did a quick check Publisher: Infogrames Developer: Shiny Entertainment. that is from gamespot. shiny I think just got bought up by some one else but it should still be in production.
well the Matrix Reloaded is out Memorial Day, 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions November 2003.
The video game has yet to have a date of release. As of yet there is no info other then the people working on the anime series and other then the art of the matrix boook and the shooting script there is little info on the series.
other then what is on the www.whatisthematrix.com

I think this is a good thing look at star wars if they had the technology to shot all of them at once think on how the story would have been diffrent,ie lukes face in empire strikes back.
It is a little much in a short time but it was 1999 when the first one was out. And with the video game and the anime series it will do good I think IMHO.
The trailer is shipping with episode 2 but will not be on the reel the theater will choose if they want to show it before the episode 2
they are doing more then shooting special footage they are getting motion capture from some of the actors for the video game. More likely then not it will be a 3D game and it is easyer to caputer it then to animate it.
check this for more details, they have been on the money for as long as I have checked the site.
"The operating system has to be the next killer app because we can't rely on games - developers are going to be on DX8.1 for a while and playing on their consoles for a lot longer. PC gaming isn't dead, but is it really a driving force? "
Quote from Toms hardware
I think that is the stupidest thing I have heard yet. I am sorry but the OS need not be a killer app it just need to work very very good and leave room for other apps to do there jobs.
The real push of 3D hardware is well the 3d industry from video games to movies. This is where every great 3D thing comes from not your OS. Unless you believe the hype.
I only hope that it will be just like the pilot on the page, if they put it on scifi then it will be edited for content nudity, language, and violence. It would have to be rated R for these reasons. But some dumb person in control of content will try to market it to kids, instead of the older crowds that the show was meant for.
The more they try to tighten thier grip, the more viewers that will slip between thier fingers.
They soon will have total control over what you se, well it could be said that is already happening, but now it will cover how you watch and and what yuo can do with the $5,000 tv setup.
Once I get a TV it is just going to be used for DVD so I could careless what they do. But once they resrict what I can do with my TV that is when they have gone to far.
Discreet and Adobe apps

,check it and love it.
I don't think I could build a custom PPC machine for less then the prices here.

Hell NO! the thing to know is ,There isn't a contract !
I know more people now that will not watch TV then ever before. I mainly watch HBO and guess what if it is in between shows I don't watch it either. They day I have to agree to a EULA to watch tv shows is the day I stop watching!
I am sorry if you hate what I think but soem times you have to beat up the little guy.
:) ! They are in there legal right to do so.
I am joking
yeah mozilla has options for this and more ,also the mac version of ie has the same thing. Don't you just love MS and IE
.9.9+ has been just as fast for me as IE 5.5 was. If you want to get rid of pop-ups then check out mozilla.
:)

It not what you wanted to hear but it is a answer to the problem.
TTP is a ripoff of every scifi movie and show.
It will be chesse but it will be CG chesse.
