Among the bug fixes and security updates are a set of tools that let people hide the existence of Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, Windows Messenger, and Windows Media Player.
Gee, thanks for allowing me to hide the stuff M$, everyone likes having useless software that still takes up disk space and probably still loads DLLs into memory that they can't see. I want the ability to remove the stuff, not just hide it. If I wanted to just hide it, I just wouldn't look at it!
Create some spyware that automatically plays singles from your band everytime I boot my computer.

XBox Linux HOWTOs

Actually as soon as I hit submit, I realized the answer to my question. After you have linux running on your X-Box, you return it to the store and get your money back, then buy another X-Box and repeat. Make sure you put some Xgames on it and a KDE wallpaper with the XBox logo. You'll be puzzling the hell out of anyone who buys it and I can just see what happens when they call up toys R us and ask them if their XBox is supposed to have a little window with $ in it.
This is my theory on the donor... You know how serial killers eventually get caught, not because people outsmart them, but because they feel guilty and really want to be caught and punished so they leave clues... I think it's the guy that copyrighted the phone numbers as music pieces, or maybe the jpg company...
This company was approved for a moon mission? I'm supposed to believe they are going to make it to the moon, when they can't even build a decent website? They have a banner add (a cheesy one) advertising leaving your mark on the moon. Tell me this is a joke?
Is that it is actually in most cases harder to get a job in the public sector. The government has very strict hiring practices and if they say you need a degree, they tend to not accept equivalent work experience. Sure you may not get laid off working for the government, but in most cases, if you were working in the private sector you could save enough money to handle being laid off. Sure you get nice hours, vacation working for the government, but again working in the private sector (especially as a consultant) you can save more money to take vacation, or even take a couple months off. Sure working for the government you might not have to work as hard and be as skilled, but you won't be learning skills and using your skills, so you won't be advancing your career either. Weighing it out, it's any easy choice for me, if I'm going to work for the government, I'm going to be a marine so I can kill people, because that's about the only real benfit it has, (aside from stability which can be countered by money, because money = time)
Who cares if he had the idea patented before Ebay. Who cares if Ebay knew about it and willfully violatd the patent. The big thing that matters here is the fact that someone can patents something like "online auctions." That's not what patents were designed for. Patents were designed to protect inventors... inventors of new ideas, not people looking to make a quick buck or own a group of ideas. Auctioning something offline or online should not make a difference. If you can't patent something offline you shouldn't be able to patent it online, it makes no difference. A good majority of these stupid patent claims come from the patent office to allow people to patent things that they normally wouldn't be able to patent, just because they are doing them online.
Remind me. What was the Bit?
It was just a bit--the increment that we could get out of computers at the time.
The computer's equivalent to an atom?
Exactly. A zero and a one. A positive or a negative.
Sweet that book review changed my life... I was a devout linux supporter, but now after reading this review on slashdot I think maybe Windows is the best operating system!
We are using mp3 players to play illegal copies of music which we have not licensed, but we are complaining, because decoders now have a license of 75 cents? Perhaps my wording isn't so great, but I guess I will continue to illegally use my decoder to play illegal mp3 files and not give crap about any of this.
People get money from the government to research this kind of stuff? I want a government grant. I want to compare the internet to the growth of fungus on oranges.
Once I dropped an apple and it went straight up! I kid you not!
Nuff said...
Any word on when the AS/400 hotsync software comes out...

Suppose you get Linux running on your X-Box? Then what? You say "Wow, I have Linux running on my X-Box, I'm super cool." But... then what?

It's only slightly more complicated than the kernel itself.

I would lie to you if I told you that I've read the whole book.
Hmm...
Then I want it to play the best strategy, not do the same stupid stuff I do wrong...

Wait a minute... so you are telling me that Microsoft is selling me something that I have to pay more for, but I get less?
No way, your nuts, they never would do that.

I'm coming over your house to erase your CD-Rs, because I have nothing better to do....
Do not click on that second link if your at work. Especially if your boss is near. One word..... "ITPOPSUPAPORNWINDOW"

Bah... I overclocked mine to 7800 mhz yesterday with some dry ice and a paint can.
But what I really want to know is does it have a dispenser to dispense a cup with spongy jelly
Do you think maybe, just maybe this might be a little overkill for the problem they are trying to solve?
