Graphing calculators became popular when I was in college in the 1990's. One semester I couldn't afford the recommended Texas Instrument graphing calculator for pre-calculus (I ended up owning three models of TI calculator by graduation). A graphing calculator gives you an instant answer and a pretty graph, especially for the more difficult problems. But sometimes drawing the graph is more insightful than having the answer given to you. A lot of students spent more time figuring out how to program their graphing calculator and the instructor got flustered because that problem came up all the time. I got a hard earned B in that class.
I wouldn't want to live in a world where adults didn't have sentimentality or empathy.
Sometimes you need someone to pull the plug without mercy. When my father was dying from cancer in the hospital, I was the designated the plug puller because he knew I would make the decision without delay. My older brother wasn't that decisive. Although I got a lot of crap from my extended family, I have no regrets for following my father's last instructions.
If you have ever filed any paperwork with the city, county or state government, third-party data brokers already have your legal name and contact info on the Internet.
Essentially, with AMC I agree to buy 1 ticket a month at $8.95, and can buy two a month at that price if I want.
I think that is the Cinemark plan. For the AMC plan you get to see three movies a week in any format (i.e., 2D, Real3D, IMAX or Dolby) for $20 per month. The theaters don't make money on ticket sales but they do make make money on concessions. A $7 large drink is about $5 in profit.
The US needs to go the European route with 2 tracks-university and technical/trades.
That's funny. When my older brother went to high school in the late 1970's, he took vocational courses in automotive and became a auto body specialist after graduating. When I got into high school in the early 1980's, vocational courses were gone. No automotive, no construction, no farming. It was college prep for all the kids, dumb and smart. A one size fits all education. Now we got a shortage of skilled trade workers because everyone wants a high-paying desk job that requires a minimal amount of physical labor.
My blue-collar parents didn't believe in college when I decided to quit my construction job ($10 per hour) and go to community college. They allowed me to live at home and provided dinner. Breakfast and lunch was my own responsibility. I worked 30 hours a week ($5 per hour) at the campus bookstore to pay for tution, books, breakfast and lunch. I graduated debt free.
Carpenters, plumbers and electricians are in short supply because every high school counselor told students to get a college degree in programming for the last 30 years. A coworker who gave up IT to become a roofer and makes more money on a hot roof than inside a cold office.
Unless MoviePass has been causing such commotion that the movies themselves are now angry at the service.
Moves, no. Theaters, yes. I joined the AMC program to see up to three movies per week in any format (i.e., 2D, Real3D, IMAX and Dolby) and other features for $20 per month. I got a postcard for the Cinemark program with one free movie and other features for $10 per month. The theaters have one advantage that MoviePass doesn't have: they make more money from concession sales than ticket sales.
Seems like every community has a group of small government folks that are trying to reduce the size of government. My community has a group that has been trying to shut down the libraries for decades. The latest tactic is to reduce the number of full-time librarains and increase the number of volunteers. Most volunteers are not trained librarians or student librarians.
You should be storing your video games on a 1TB+ HDD. While SSD will give you quick load time, video games don't benefit that much from a SSD once the game is loaded.

I find your lack of initiative distrubing.

That's sideways. If mining companies went straight down, they would reach China and owe the Chinese government mining royalties.

Does your computer have a built-in cup holder?
I already delete the voicemail from recruiters since I'm not in the job market. A few more deleted voicemails from LinkedIn won't hurt.

Toronto had a recent mass shooting. No doubt that they will blame California for that.
About 20%. Most of the delivery drivers are senior citizens.
I live down the street from a pizza joint and the delivery guy always deliver my pizza last. Why?
No kidding. My company's IT department is supporting Chrome for a cloud-based help desk system AND Internet Explorer for everything else.
Someone else already bought Duck Duck Google. Still a generic landing page. Whoever owns it should just point it to Bing.
