living in giant doughnut shaped colonies fighting for domination of earth orbit amongst ourselves with giant robots? I didnt think we'd be doing that so soon. Seriously though, this is a pretty big problem.
Back in middle school, when we watched movies in band class, my friend had one of these. It was so funny watch ing the teacher get frustrated after he would start the tape, only to see it pause or stop 30 seconds later.
"We want the Chinese industry to grow our pocketbooks. The success of Microsoft in every market, including China's, is highly dependent upon the domination of local industry. What's good for the control of local industry in every country is good for Microsoft."
That would be really funny...but what if software was passed around on these p2p networks, to where every node on the network would DoS the RIAA's IP block if they were provoked? There would be so much of a flood, that even if they were able to log IPs, there would be too many to go after...
"Berman, the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee's intellectual property and Internet panel..."
Wow, I don't know how else to define "having the fox guard the hen house"...this is going to be hell for their ISP as their bandwidth use skyrockets. Mabye we could ask or petition our ISPs to block all incoming traffic from the RIAA's ip block. =)
They never did say whether the DRM and other stuff would be on by default. Mabye if the OS(ie Linux) didn't make use of the DRM chips on the mobo, it would run like they were never there.
Wow, the BSA has sunk to a new low. Using a religion to further their agenda. And it's labeled as the worst type of theft. What the hell happened to killing someone for something? I thought that was the worst type of theft. So they've bought off government representatives and now religious leaders. I can see it now in church on Sunday...by the way IANAMOI (I am not a member of Islam)..."Piracy...is the work of the devil...piracy...makes you a bad person...PIRACY MAKES YOU THE WORST OF SINNERS!!...CAN I GET A WITNESS?!?!?!?" At that point, I will be waiting at home for the BSA, armed to the teeth.:)
I think it's a shame that they want to shut this down, since it can open up different genres to people generating more money for them(There is some pretty good atmospheric drum and bass on AG), which is all that those greedy bastards care about, obviously. Major music distribution shouldn't be led around by one entity like it is now; we know what kind of problems that can lead to. (DMCA, SSSCA or CBDTPA, etc.)
And on the spyware issue, I switched OSes, with AG on another drive and spyware on C drive, so my copy has no spyware attached to it (VX2.dll was erased).
2) Alot more people would buy the music if they sold them directly over the internet.
If they just dropped the price of a regular CD to a reasonable amount, I would be happy to buy it. As long as it's not any of that "music" that they whore on TRL.
Everything controlled by one "joystick". Thought cell phones were a problem, just wait until you see someone trying to change their A/C settings! "So i turn this way...no, that's not it...(cat flies over windshield)...no, mabye it's in this menu...(car goes over cliff)...oh! here it...OH MY GOD!!!!(Chris Farley style)" 'Nuff said. At least I can change the A/C settings in my car without paying any attention to it. One more reason that 80's sports cars rule!
IP doesn't benefit anyone. Just the corporations.
With the extensions on copyrights, pretty soon the media giants will control much of what we see and hear for a few generations.
What else do you expect? In a world where McDonald's becomes a part of everyone's life, Music companies drown people in music to keep them distracted from the real issues and media and news giants twist and change the news to suit their agenda, I would expect nothing less. People are practically trained to care about insignificant things such as what movie made so much and ho many people are raving over the latest 4 or 5 boy group. Want people to start giving a damn about their surroundings? Show them some better stuff. Tell them to get a Mac, use linux, bid for stuff somewhere else, READ THEIR EULAs, look around instead of buying from who has the most advertising out there, and tell them not to buy Ford vehicles! The gt40 I can tolerate. : ) Do that, and the world will be on it's way to becoming a better place.
The pirates aren't getting what they deserve. They're still finding ways around the copy protection. The honest consumers are the ones getting the shaft.
I dunno. I see this as a way to get Linux more known to everybody. If Red Hat steps up advertising against other distros, everyone else will have to step up advertising. Possibly getting more business for all distro makers.
Legion's number is now 3,520?
Just grabbed it. Go to this site and get it.
Been around since 1985. Hopefully they would still have something lying around...

window seats. Considering that there are none.

This doesn't affect me one bit. Never did watch Trinity Broadcasting Network. Too many imges of people with hair 4 feet tall...
If I remember correctly, the controller ports on the xbox are USB based.

"There is however one thing to remember... it can't last without the support of government."
As long as they can pay off enough representatives and government officials, they can get as much "support" as they need.
If you paid taxes during the cold war, you ended up supporting terrorism. What's your point?
Please tell me they were joking about the terrorist teddy bear...
Damn...that's fast.
Mandrake 8.1 power pack. 45 minutes tops.
