10 kg is about 22 pounds. You said it's too big to mount on a destroyer but it's only 22 pounds? What about the capacitors and battery power reqired to store the energy to fire it? Even a.50 cal sniper rifle is 35 - 40 pounds and that is small enough to be carried and shot by personel. I would guess the weight closer to 250 kg (about 550 pounds) and the weapon would have some method to absorb the recoil.
With Microsoft going through a huge security push and ignoring an obvious solution to 90% of the problem makes me so frustrated I don't know to laugh or kill puppies.
Any server should default install to the equivlent of
deny any any all
All permissions and services needed past that should be added as needed.
The DHCP server port (67) should be blocked as an outgoung source address through the cable modem (using the boot file). There could be a couple modems here and there with configs that don't firewall CPE DHCP servers (and NetBIOS etc.) but most of them do.
Another Question.

Does "cut operating costs by 42%" mean we can expect the distro to stagnate?...
Maybe, but I'll sometimes leave my box conected to an IRC server for 2 or 3 days wihout having the connection reset. I ssh to and from work and still no problems.
It's about time someone pointed that out and was not moded as a troll. Linux sort of reminds me of "The Emperors New Clothes". I have been using Linux and alternitave office products along side of the MS versions for quite some time, and I have to say that Linux is generally much slower and much less stable. By the time there is enough code added to Linux for the features I need it will take a 2.4 GHz+ CPU to run smoothly and it's code base will be nearly impossible to upkeep. Not to mention that with it's current packaging trend most distros will need to be placed on 10 or 15 CD-R's. All this talk of Linux making progress etc., I've been following for years and think it's heading at a brick wall.
"the total idiots who couldn't even get mandrake running"
Mandrake is never really "running", more of a crawl I'd say. I'm a dual-booter and have been for a while. Say what you will of MS sucking but you can pry my pirated copy of win XP pro from my cold dead fingers.

I will have to agree with you on that point. I think if we are going to change anything in the face of this, we should move to a more reserved foreign policy.
CrazyBrett, what government data is it that you need unrestrained access to or is this just another thing I should support because Microsoft is bad Linux is good? This is not really just some stunt to get the government to throw money at OSS instead? I was WAY off base.
That is a HEAT round; they are mostly used on infantry personnel carriers and light armored vehicles, but are not as effective against heavy armor. The type of round this would be useful against probably wouldn't penetrate a tank. It would probably be more effective to upgrade the lighter armored vehicles to a heavier armor than it would be to implement this, but it's still a cool concept. This might be more likely to be used in aviation where there is a greater need for the lighter weight.
Nobody is using copper to penetrate armor. Currently most US tanks are using Depleted Uranium SABOT rounds. It's, in a nutshell, the equivalent of a train engine traveling at 60mph and hitting something with the surface area of a dime. The amount electrical power required to stop it would probably do a much better job as an EMP for the tanks onboard computer systems. It would also be nearly impossible to generate and sustain that kind of power, that is, with or without a bolt of lightning:)
Yes, this is a turning point in the war...

he gets about 640 Kb/s on his DSL line, I get about 3.4 meg on my cable modem. Very reliable service so far as well.

I have installed Linux on 3 computers in my LAN.

Or you could just buy an 806 with the SPI firewall package for around $500.

What if people can't afford the computers or operating systems to read this "standard"?
I think it's stupid to mandate this at all. They should be able to use the best product/format whatever for the job.
Far too AOL for me and after getting busted with the smart download tracking I just don't trust them.

But, someone told me the blue pill fixes the Linux installation and backwards compatibility issues.
