I second that, in the case of actually hearing people online, I think it is highly overrated. I disable all that built-in voice crap myself. (like in SC2)

  13. Causal Relationship? on Are Gamers Safer Drivers? · · Score: 1

To develop a relationship between the two is difficult at best due to all of the factors involved. One might take the gender of gamers into consideration or try to measure the impact of one game versus another, but in the end, you still have to deal with additional factors like what sort of information people take away from games and actually apply to real world situations as well as what really qualifies as a good decision in traffic given multiple factors. I think it is better to slowly pick out the effects of gaming on individual measures of "driving performance" before coming to something as grand as a definite relationship between driving and gaming. That's just me, though.

in three to five years, Engkey will mature enough to replace native speakers.

This is another one of Korea's stupid ideas to save a quick buck. At one point they tried to have Korean teachers replace the foreign teachers saying that they could do the job just as well. Obviously, it didn't work. Not only because they have poor hiring standards across the board (cheapest = best) but also because it's very difficult to teach a language without native speaking knowledge.

Some of the achievements are linked to the challenge portion of the game. In the challenge part of the game, you learn basic to advanced strategies for playing the game. Although this has no real impact on your gameplay later, it is nice to get something for making your way through the challenges.
