Interesting, the first thing I thought is I had seen this with Vivisimo, but I guess no one could spell that so the changed the name?

I have had exactly the same experience. At least in Austin, TX DSL is the way to go.

I have had cable twice at different places and the service would go down periodically, or even better it would be slow because to many people were using it at the same time. All this usually happened in the couple of hours I am actually home. I have also had DSL at two different residences and it has always worked and I never notice speed changes.

For me DSL is so much more reliable and faster "when I need it", that even three times the bandwidth would not make me change back to that crappy service.

Never once while the guy was walking over to the bbq pit and spilling liquid oxygen all over the place did I think he was uncool. Entropy in action for the stupid, I do not know how he survived.

Whatever with the focus on wasteful spending on sports. My Mom is a school teacher and there is a nice payola scam with book lobbyist getting the governments to buy books ever other year. This system needs to be fixed so that the money is spent on teaching the kids.

I think the real problem with news organizations is that they are now aligning to think for people and tell them what their opinion should be. You have the Fox right wing channel, the CBS right wing channel, and so on. Sad really, I like to think for myself and make my own opinions.

Google appears to have pretty bad bias now (pro US, pro right wing), I would like to see another aggregate service that I could see all the news and make up my own mind.

When you use the Gentoo emerge command to get a package, it first sorts out all the dependencies and downloads and compiles each dependency from source. Unless you specify it, most of the time it is not a pre-compiled binary and is a very clean solution.
