Did it occur to any one that the use of the BASIC stamp was over kill. I'll agree it makes the project a little bit easier but these guys are MIT students. All you seriously need is a photo sensor, a transistor, an op-amp and a relay. Very simple. The only tricky part is that using this simple circuit would require precious placement of the photo sensor. This shouldn't be a problem if you know the velocity of the projectile which they know. You'd think some MIT nerds would have done it this way which is a little more elegant.

It sounds to me like every aspect of this entire architecture is comprised of third party components. Even the OS is a joke. Just buy yourself a copy of XP embedded and you can compile your custom OS in a couple of hours. Seriously no one would even know it's XP. You can completely configure every aspect of the entire OS. To be honest with you Nintendo are the only ones doing anyhting different. Sure the characters are the same but the games are inovative and fun.

XBOX and PS2 re-hash the same tired games with the same tired graphics. There all either car games or first person games. XBOX and PS2 are just tired and boreing for the most part.

In my opinion the PS2 and Xbox games are very similar, but the GameCube titles are so different. I see no reason in owning an Xbox and a PS2, there basically the same (of course the Xbox is better).
