Alright, no offense, but you're a complete idiot if your XP box crashes more then once a month, if that. Several times a day? My 13 year old sister's computer rarely crashes, and god knows what she does to the thing (can you say insane ammounts of spyware?).
I don't like Microsoft as much as the next guy, but don't bash a company because you're incompetent.
My computers can run without network connections, thank you. You might have noticed that Microsoft phased out standalone patches a couple years ago.
Um, no they didn't. Every patch Microsoft releases can be downloaded as a standalone installer. Windows Update is intended for home users, but Microsoft knows an admin isn't going to run Windows Update on every computer he maintains. The hotfixes as they are called can even be slipstreamed onto an install CD, so they're applied automatically at setup. I've done with every copy of Windows I've owned since Windows 2000.
I just wish they'd release a patch for Carmageddon 2 to allow it to work properly on NT based machines. Carmageddon 2 was in my opinion, the high point of the series. It was all downhill from then on.
I gave up watching TV and listening to the radio long ago. There's simply nothing good on anymore, and the radio has been crap for years. I'm sure many of you feel the same way.
In a move totally unrelated to the story above, the RIAA has filed a lawsuit against Duke University student Justin Moore, demanding $427 Billion USD, or 50 cents for every song he has shared on the underground hacker network known as 'Kazaa'.
I've read both Halo: The Fall of Reach and it's sequel Halo: The Flood. I've gotta say, both books are great. If you've played Halo, I really suggest reading both of these books, they explain alot of the backstory of Halo, such as how the Spartan's came to be, the discovery of the Covenant, and other cool things you can't find out by simply playin' the game.
I've got a feeling that if anyone posts the information this guy's askin' for, Slashdot will be shut down for aiding Terrorists, and CmdrTaco and crew will sit in a cell down in Cuba awaiting to be formerly charged with anything. God bless America.
C&C Red Alert's story goes something like this.. In the 1940's, Einstien builds a time machine, and goes back to 1920's Germany, where he meets a young Adolf Hitler who's fresh out of prison. He then kills Hitler, altering the course of time.
Fast forward to the 1940's, and instead of the Nazi's rising to power in Germany, we get Russia trying to conquer all of Europe.
That reminds me of an old saying that game consoles that are grey, would succeed, while black consoles, would fail.
This held true for a few generations, the NES succeeded, while the MasterSystem failed, SNES succeeded moreso then the Genesis, PSX succeeded, where the Saturn and N64 failed. But this sorta fell apart when the Dreamcast and PS2 came out, since that sorta reversed it. Now grey consoles suck.:)
Back when I was around 7 or 8, I used to get 'night terrors', at least that's what the ER doctors called 'em, all the time.. They were incredibly realistic, and scared the hell outta me. I still remember running around the living room couch, screaming at the top of my lungs, because I thought an airplane was gonna fly through the window....turns out it was the ambulance my Mother called.:)
And when they come to Earth and systematically wipe us out one city at a time, one brave computer geek will upload a virus to thier mothership, and take the whole alien fleet out! They'll make movies out of this!
Sounds like a double edged sword to me.. On one hand, we get support for all of Microsoft's formats, in a native client. On the other, it furthers Microsoft's reach with thier DRM technologies.

You've got an 8mbit a second ADSL connection, and you get 22ms pings? Cry me a river.
:(
Alright, yeah. I'm jealous.
Possibly because the roads are public property, intended for use by everyone - not a consumer good.
I guess you don't like driving on a toll-way either.

I'm sure the average theif doesn't have a clue what a BIOS is, let alone how to remove one, or even tell if it's equipt with theft guard.
Well shit, who needs a 14.4 megabit connection on thier cellphone? Screw that, tell me how to hook it up to my computer.
Don't you mean the first? ;)

I'd really like to see an MMORPG similar to what was featured in .hack//sign.

20 people?! Good god call the riot police!
They're now on the Web
Not for long!

Yet that's still a better track record then the French.

How about a link to the article in question?
If you're into Japanese music/dvd's/anime, www.cdjapan.co.jp is a great place to shop.
My liquid nitrogen super-cooled P4 3gig runs faster then that!

Oh wait, they already did...

If you've ever seen something moving at 30fps, and something moving at 60fps side by side, you can easily tell the difference.
We may only be able to see 30 frames per second, but 60fps sure does seem alot smoother.
