Cant remember the G3 specs (2mbit?) - but one thing is what it should be able to do - another is what the telco is putting in.
I worked for a short time (student summerjob) for a big telco putting up G3 network - most base stations didnt have more than 4-8mbit to the network. The hub with most bandwith was 16mbit - thats 8 phones going at full speed - (In fact you would have around a 1.000 phones roaming on that hub)
Ohh and no phone actually supports that bandwith as far as I know - it uses way to much power to go at that speed.
Or not, its bloody annoying when people does stuff like that - try grabbing the slashdot rss feed - it will put in
and tags into the feed which contains ads. Don't style the rss feed! If the links doesn't go to your site and you want ads, then don't offer the bloody feed!
How about downloads through portage (gentoo)? Or other mirrors for that matter, Ive never used the official site for downloads since I'm usually close to a local mirror.
The number is just a number, and I call BS on the growthrate - Everyone I know is switching to firefox - 2 months ago only the "tech savy" guys had it - now even the big ol' boss is running FF.
I was thinking the exact same thing. 15 years ago I was reading about new huge harddrives (some 20-50MB) and my biggest wish was for a new diskdrive for my amiga. 10 years ago everything had to be voodoo - now adays I really dont give a rats ass what runs under the hood - as long as its stable and I can do dual monitor on the rig.
I know from good sources that the reason why Motorola is moving to Poland is the people there have good education - but unlike India and China they have been raised to make decisions and follow through.
I find this so baffling that they can say that. Here in Denmark you cant change the policy without proper notice, and the policy changes cant be applied untill after the current "term" (ie. if you pay per quarter it wont be applied untill after next quarter) - Ohh yeah, firms does try to fsck with their costumers, but we got our consumer watchdog "forbrugerrådet" to deal with that.
Not entirely correct. You get 6 months full warranty, the next 6 months the company has to prove that you did something wrong in order to void warranty - and then for the last 12 months its up to the user to prove that the equipment was malproduced - thats what the law says, but most places they tend to give 2 years full warranty (at least here in Denmark) - Oh yeah, and if you turn something in, get it repaired then the warranty gets extended. My muvo died after 14 months of use, got it replaced with a bigger model and extended for 24 months - only expenses I had was buying the bus ticket to turn the hardware in.
That really makes no sence to me... If I were to lease (rent) something and it broke I (here in Denmark) would just return it and ask for it to be replaced. And I'd call bs on the amount of time, we got a couple of servers on lease for 4 years now, it would have been cheaper to buy them if you just look at the cost and divide that by the rent, but thats not how you do those calculations - you need to look at the value of investing the money vs. buying the hardware, which leads us to point C - you would do the exact opposite in my opinion - if you got high devaluation on an item and you can lease it go for it.
It would be logic that way, but in my experience slaggers has a tendency to be promoted - why? because since they never do anything they never f*** up, and thus must be competent people... right?
Yeah - what the hell is that reboot about? Its a pain debugging the XP systems because you cant see what the f*** is wrong, it just reboots. Back in good old NT4 you got a screen full of usefull information, and with a little knowledge you had a chance of figureing out what got the system a tad unhappy.
"I don't think many people actually believe that, and there are no known algorithms for NP problems." Ahrem, there are no known polynominal algorithms - you can bruteforce them given enough time, and therefore there is an algorithm.
Also people like me who choose the tool for the job at hand - I have both windows an linux on my machines becasue windows does some things better than linux (games etc), while linux handles my studies better (Tex, programming, etc). If one of them someday were good enough to do what the other does for me I would switch in an instant... I dont care if it says linux of microsoft, I do care about the costs and if it handles the job at hand.
Yeah, We all got that, me being a geek n all I always know when someone has touched my computer. When the flat mate has been surfing or stuff like that - no data has changed, I just know someone has touched my "baby"... Man Im a geek
Hehe, yeah I noticed that last time I was in Leshoto - while we were walking around in shorts everyone else was wrapped up good in winter clothing (it was some 22-25 C)
Speaking of morons - you wasted at least half an hour, or more likely an hour complaining. Dont know how much you make, but at my sallary you could have bought that dvd 5 times...
So true, my dad always said, remember, when you point your finger at someone - you got three fingers pointing back.
(do a fist point at someone and look at your hand - sorry Im not native enligsh speaker so I dont know how to explain it:) )

What is it with german television and voiceovers anyways? Its bloody annoying because you guys get the new movies before us danes - and I cant watch them because I suck at deutch. (btw. the via-sat bird has some danish channels showing scrubs season 3 in english with danish subtitles, just get a decoder and tune in)
Ever heard of addblock? I havent seen internet adds in days now. Its only when I'm farking around I get ads - and thats because I havent seen that add server before...
That might be how it works in your end of the world, but around here - if sold me a license and decided to rewoke it I'm pretty sure I'm entitled to a 100% refund since that I can no longer use what I payed for.

I dont think its because we want to leave as such - more like we are a damned little country, but we like to kick up af fuss :)

This being Denmark you probably need to kill someone to get into jail - however, it will get on your record if you shoplift.

Actually since the US is a heck of alot bigger than UK it would be more correct (as someone already has said) to be saing boston is in new york.
You are forgetting the salt and the metal... Sheesh
Stick to what is actually being said.
Nowhere in the article does it say he was using industrial laser.
