The idea that millions of people have their hands on a Compact Disc should be glorious for the musicians. Their music is being spread by word of mouth and for free. It doesn't cost them a thing to get it in the hands of the consumers.
When music really took off in the early 80's and record labels realized they could take advantage of musicians they changed their business plans accordingly.
Currently, in order for a group to be promoted to corporate rock specifications, the label did not break even until the third album release. This is due to methods of marketing, overpriced radio air play, and the rates to get a video on MTV.
When they say they are looking for revenues in cell phone ring-tones and Internet based mp3 stores they are simply avoiding their problem.
Their new business plan is weak They simply need to go back to the way they did it in the 70's.
I personally have been buying vinyl records. They didn't mention a slide or climb in vinyl sales.

Ask about offsite back ups storage., how far away is it?

A network can be set up easily for you in this manner:
I will assume that your 150 mac workstations are all connected to hubs located around your building. Those hubs are probably connected to a larger hub closer to your router.
If that is the case, simply ask you pc users to plug in to the closest hub.
The pcs are so deep in the network that they should not get attacked by inbound worms. Your router and firewall should handle that.
As a requirement that you get to set.. force them to install something like Norton AntiVirus/Internet Security. Assign the pc users IP addresses. dont let them automatically assign using DHCP. when they get fussy with you about AntiVirus. simply kill their IP address and tell them when they meet requirements they get turned back on.
But know you will have to add to your routine a few steps.
make sure they have all incoming email getting scanned. Set their computer to only let you be the admin and them the user. Set windows update to automatically install updates. Set Norton to check for updates everyday. Do not let them have the ability to install software unless you do it.
this should put things back into control for a while.
pcs and mac os x actually work fine together as long as the IT guy is a tyrant!
I created our CRM, admin the offsite Linux servers, sysadmin the macs and pcs. Handle the network. troubleshoot anything that gets plugged in to the wall. I make all the clients web sites, admin the databases, and write then CRM's.
I go offsite and set up LANs, do customer support for network and operations. I handle buying and purchasing bids for multiple companies, and do sales when I am needed for consultation at the conference table.
my title is 'tech guy' I have no degree and no certs. only skills and proof of skills. I am over qualified to work for large companies but under qualified at the same time. Its just one of those things, my advice is this:
