I kind of miss my 486 box.
IBM PS/2 Model 77 486 DX2 66mhz, 48MB ram, full scsi and MCA, with a XGA/2 graphics card. System was a beast. Had Dr Dos running on that, with Windows 3.11
I eventually skipped over Windows 95 on it and went right to WinNT 4.0.
Forced it to run Half-Life when that came out, got a low 19000 ping playing multiplayer over lan.
Not sure what CRT you've been looking at, but my Sony Triniton SD CRT has a very nice picture to it. I've looked into HDTVs, and have found if I want to get as good a picture as my Triniton display, I'd have to get a Plasma. The LCDs I've seen can't do the colors and brightness levels as well as my crt.
Close, but not really there yet.
PC - Personal Computer
"A personal computer (PC) is any computer whose original sales price, size, and capabilities make it useful for individuals, and which is intended to be operated directly by an end user, with no intervening computer operator."

Personally, in my opinion, KDE 4 looks too much like Vista. Which is a huge turn off to me. Feels too crippled to get anything useful done, for me. I hope they do make it useful.
Tagging them non-human wouldn't work. If the robot has first law capabilities it would have to be able to recognise any human.
What would allow it to shoot a human is setting up a first law situation in it's logic circuitry that would have it believe that to protect greater number of humans those ones would have to be shot.
"An operating system (OS) is the software that manages the sharing of the resources of a computer and provides programmers with an interface used to access those resources. "

Linux is an operating system.
I would push for the removal of any law that violates our constitutional rights. Along with requirements for government agencies to be audited by the UN for violations of human rights, and US Constitutional rights. Any agency found in violation would be given a short time to provide justifiable reasons for the violations. If none can be found, they would lose funding.
I would demand all US troops be brought back to the US. I would then request a meeting with the leaders of China and Russia. I would try to work out a treaty that would have all three countries working together to keep the peace in the world, cause we really can't do it alone, if at all. If I thought we needed to go to war, it would be to places like Darfur, where people are being slaughtered in genocide.
I would try to work with the leaders of Native American nations, to bring them representation in our government, help bring them recognition and respect of their heritages, and build treaties that help protect their heritage, without trying to take their land, or their freedom.
I would try to get the other nations of the American continents, North and South, to form a sort of commonwealth. Working together to setup a universal system with all the countries on both continents to provide a means where the people of them can travel between them with little worry. I would work to make it cheaper for companies to operate here in the US, well setting a standard minimum wage that people can actually live on. Well also creating certain restrictions on the hiring of foreign workers. Like limits on what percentage of your work force can be foreign workers. Provide incentives to hire US workers only.
I would work hard at developing a health care system similar to Britains. One where you don't have to worry if you can afford medical help when you need it. Everyone deserves access to medical care, without special requirements and restrictions. They deserve to not have life saving care denied because the insurance company thinks they don't need it. I would work to eliminate the extortion raquet of the insurance companies.
I have a cheap Go Video dvd player. It skips all that crap and just loads the main movie. Makes watching new dvds almost bearable. If there were some good movies on them, it'd be better.
I feel sorry for you. I can go into several department stores here and buy rocket engines without any ID. The hobby store here sells A through E engines, only money required. Do it all the time. I'm in Michigan, by the way.
1) - fine, it had a harddrive built in, that's nifty
2) - Been done long before the xbox was a twinkle in shareholders eyes. Back to the Atari age.
3) - See last point
4) - My Gamecube and Dreamcast both did 480p, big deal. Dreamcast did it before the xbox.
5) - Dreamcast came with standard modem, upgradable to network. Gamecube supported networking, and Atari supported more networking features in their Jaguar than any company since. Shortwave Radio, modem, and direct serial connections. Only thing I see noteworthy is the xbox building the network adaptor into it.
The only thing being done differently with this generation of consoles is Nintendo's Wiimote, and everyones' built in storage. Everything else has been done over and over again since the begining of consoles.
Are you kidding? He's from Michigan, he'd go the Henry Ford route. He'll shuffle in from a long trip, see the brand new product/code they want to surprise him with, he'll proceed to destroy it and anyone that had anything to do with it. Just to show that he is still in control, that it's still his baby.

Abort, Retry, Fail?
"What popular American religions have such a clearly military organization that you perhaps even think they have weapons?" Salvation Army?
I'll be meeting you there, cause I did too.

Tesla was also told in school that alternating current was a dream and to give up on it, that it couldn't be done. Laws are meant to be broken.

My orchestra conductor always told us we had to be able to play without her, in case she fell over dead on stage.

"Of course it means we'd all die without actually seeing Duke Nukem Forever (DNF - hmm...)"
That'll probably happen anyways.

Damn, I must have imagined creating an account there then. And keep imagining every time I log in to it.
Microsoft Games Studio doesn't seem to have any problems with releasing native ports of their games on OS X either.

Starcraft on Wii would be awsome.
I'm waiting for next fall, Civilization for Wii.

you forgot NT 5.2 (Windows 2003)
Neither of those companies went out of business. One just went out of consoles.

It's coming to the Wii and DS.

You could always try offering them a crappy technology, like map making.
I was starting to get scared no one would mention it.
