Its not even that big of an issue of hardware but gameplay. There are alot of servers in the game right now, ALOT. If you had to combine all the players together your land would be very camped and have a huge affect on gameplay/economy. It was determined in advance that the world would be designed with an ideal amount of players for the purpose of gameplay. Whats interesting right now is how the economies are different across different realms but they are still faily balanced even when it changes. On a massive scale it would be x times more difficult to maintain a balanced economy.
Dont get me wrong, trying to support eveyone on one realm would be a huge undertaking and pretty much impossible at the currently unexpected growth rate, but the cost/benefit just isn't worth it.
It just seems more blatently obvious that they should give out free month. The people spoke and blew away the companys expectations within a week bringing in what they anticipated to take 6 months. For this the players are punished. Battlegrounds has to be taking a back seat untill they solve the server issues.
I'ts not like i'm going to quit playing because I wont get a free month. I can't even bring myself to try the free Anarchy Online. I'm just offended personally that they belive that the customers should be punished for being such big fans.
Your quote "Blizzard actually made an effort to let the community know what was going on... " kind of bothers me because this is a month and a half after the game has been released. It feels more like the company has "finally responded", not "made an effort".
Skills test are somewhat uncommon, but the majority of those tests are given to people without degrees. Your skill level comes through in the verbal interview. A company wants someone who not only knows what they are doing but can tell you what they can do.
Yes we have completed our search, no we dont have anything to say at this point because we really ended it a month ago but didn't bother to inform you. We dont think its that relavant to the liberation of the country.
I saw the sony black screen. Finally made sense when I saw it and crushed my heart with its limitations. Its got a $2,000 price tag and is not due out untill summer. Now that I see it I picture a very reflective material on the back and filtered layers in between blocking any colors but the red/green/blue. However the problem is there is are brighter/darker regions depending on where you stand. Not sure if thats the reflection of the display or lighting of the room (which was not terribly bright). Its not that bad but worse then any rear projector displays I saw at the show so there is no reason to blow $2k on a system that replaces one problem with another.
Renember when you were a kid and your house party got out of hand so you called the cops on yourself? Ok ok, it was an episode of growing pains, but still.

TiVo to Go Released
·
· Score: 1
I always hear about Tivo encouraging hacking. But never seen any proof? Are the Series 2 Tivo's not harder to hack then Series 1? Is this a trend that says "hacker friendly"?
On a tuesday if this article was posted as a comment it would be flooded as a troll, wednesdays its a front pager. Lets pick and run.
Inferior earlier versions of the product might have tainted opinion. The current version, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, is the firm's third-generation offering.
Media Center is on its third generation over the course of 3 years. Showing progress is not weakness.
Consumers might decide it's easier to just buy a PVR from TiVo or their cable or satellite provider rather than buy a full-function PC. Plus, finding a place for the PC next to their TV can be a problem.
Headline fron/. said alternatives are thriving. Let me put this in perspective for you. Media center PCs are usually stocked with other PCs. The alternatives, are not.
Yes the DRM is very damning, as of right now I am stuck copying these drm-ms files onto my laptop and playing them through this windows operating system, how dare they. Completly unacceptable, and I thank you soo much for bringing that up even though the main article mentions nothing about it.
This far right is like listening to Daily show at night and listening to Rush in the morning. You live and breathe to get your propiganda, even on things you know nothing about. Your taking news articles and posting a completly different spin on them in the hopes of readers beliving you and not reading the article.
I assume that this is of course a montly fee mmrpg, who is going to sign up for one that is not well funded? Seriously i'm gonna pay $13 a month for a company that may give up after 6 months?
And they wondered how AO was going to survive WoW. They were one of the largest guilds in AO (if you count inactive players...*whistle*) and everyone is playing WoW right now.
But are they supposed to keep paying because they have been there since the begining? To pay monthly fee's to play with a bunch of boneheads? One of the big plusses for AO was it was not well known and had a high amount of players who knew what they were doing.
How about:
Does politics have any real effect on your daily life?
We can closely match the university pay and it'll be alot more fun I promise. You can start with the tivo integration project!
Folks there is nothing to worry about, nothing to see here-OH MY GOD WHERE IS MY CAR?
Ah HA!
I do plan to leave when guildwars comes out.

Now if your video card would have a hardware decoder to speed up decompression...
Interesting... HP was showing off projectors.
With the sony thing, renember its only the screen that the image is projected on, not the projector itself.
Whoever wants to update their g network to pre-n will be more then willing to update their pre-n with real-n in 2007.

Now he has to keep the UO gold...
What rat bastard turned him in?

Would be nice if they sold the system before closing it.
If you look at the people who play 40 hours a week trust me your not getting a bad deal compared to them.
Your new around here arn't you?
Oh wait, your just an editor.

at first I was like... wtf?
then I thought about it and was like
!!!OMGWTFBBQ!?!?!!!oneoneon!
Think of the people right now who just spent their 27k for a DVD server to find out the company will soon be going the way of 3..2...1... boom!
um no, The only wireless LCD monitors I know of are smart displays. How would you like your home PC to be an RDP session on an 802.11b?
So were curing AIDS but giving HIV free reign?
