You can't rate these things simply by immediate time sunk in to them, how many films have lifted their plots directly from Shakespeare? You should count every one of those in your calculations too (that 605 million man hours you calculated for WoW is probably bested by Romeo and Juliet alone).
The impact goes further when you consider his effect on the english language, name one use of language in WoW that you expect to be as significant in 400 years time as Shakespeare's invention of the phrase "thin air" for example.

Rate it as a nice low price bonus added to a Wiimote purchase and it's excellent value. Reviewers of the game seemeed to miss its point and failed to score it for what it was. But then reviewers tend to look down on anything outside of their definition of gaming. Which is probably why I've never seen a gaming mag review Bejeweled even though I bet it's one of the most played games in the world today.
In terms of price per hour of gameplay it probably ranks as the highest Wii game in my house, my "non gamer" wife (who spends more time playing casual games than I do playing my "proper" games) loves it and can't help but challenge visitors to a cow race or two.

It was always clearly a cynical attempt to target a game at kids who are in that phase where they think that watching pointless extreme violence makes them somehow cool and mature.

Game is the largest dedicated retailer in Europe by far. They no longer have any links back to US companies but US visitors will feel right at home. (as long as getting trade in prices at half of the going e-bay rate and then seeing them put up for sale at a price higher than you can buy new online makes you feel at home).
My local Game (Buxton for those that are interested) had several in stock but were all in the £300 bundle I mentioned. The bundle wasn't bad, had four games including Paper Mario, Raving Rabbids 2, can't remember what the other two were but it was a reasonable choice. I heard the manager talking to an obviously confused parent, she told him that Nintendo put the bundles together and so they are forced to sell them that way (a blatant lie).
I've heard that forcing bundles on people is actually illegal in the UK and people have managed to get the console unbundled if they're willing/capable of pressing the issue up to the head offices.

  18. UK Status on Where are Wii? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Over in the UK supply isn't bad (although so tight that Nintendo are considering dropping all adverts to keep demand down), don't expect to get one from the first shop you go to (unbundled anyway) but a bit of work to find out which day stock is arriving to which retailers and you can pick one up. E-bay prices are only about £20 over RRP. Supply seems even better over in Europe, many are ordering through Amazon's German wing.
The real shortage over here are certain games, Wii Play and High School Musical currently go for silly money on E-bay and Amazon.

  25. Re:The fact that carbon trading exists... on Move to a Mainframe, Earn Carbon Credits · · Score: 1

Because the concern is total carbon output for a country. The theory is that if you output a bajillion tons of CO2 and the farmer next door grows enough trees to take a bajillion tons of C02 back out of the atmosphere the two cancel each other out. To provide an analogy I can either tidy my own flat or I can pay someone to do it for me (if I do neither then the landlord takes it out of my deposit when I leave).
Neutralitly is of course pretty much impossible (at this point in time) so the government puts in credits to cover however much CO2 in total it wants to output and sets fines for uncredited output high enough to keep you in the scheme. There are now a number of options for you to choose a combination of:
    1) You buy as many credits as you need, something like an auction will set the going rate for a credit
    2) You cut your output so that you don't need as many credits
    3) You grow trees or something to cancel out your output
    4) You pay someone else to grow the trees for you
    5) You pay some big fine that if set right is bigger than the cost of options 1-4
This introduces competition to the system, companies will work hard to become more efficient as long as it costs less than the credits (but the fewer who bother the higher the credit price will rise). Others will try and offset their outputs and the competition will drive them to find ways of creating carbon credits at a price below market value to sell at a profit.
