Tradesmen, craftsmen and the like use millimeters for everything. 10m would be written as 10,000 on drawings. I used to work all the way down to hundredths of a mill too.
Very old jobs sometimes came with imperial measurements. Funny how it was all measured in thousandths of inches too. Four-thou was 0.1mm - a normal tolerance.
Give it up because your inches were decimalised decades ago.
In the 15 years I've been using it, only New Years Eve at midnight caused any problems. This was a long time ago too. I don't remember it happening for the last few years.
15 minutes wait? Where?
I do transactions online, and SMS messages come in as quick as email. Argos, Tesco Top-ups - instant.
Voice mail texts me after a missed call. Instant.
Me thinks you live in a 3rd world country, or one that is very backward.
No, it's a culture thing passed down by their bredhren. I have a Nigerian friend who, alone with all the rest of his brothers, question authority at every moment, are always on-the-make, see evading the law as a life-game with the police. British born blacks do not act this way unless influenced by their self-segregated same-skin-coloured peers.
You enter a dark room. Inside the room is a large door with the words "Entrance to the second level" scratched in the paintwork. Below the door handle is a riddle.
"Extend the Kronecker-Weber theorem on abelian extensions of the rational numbers to any base number field."
They made their bed, now they lie in it. If they hadn't burned my fingers with "buy now, patch in 4 months, maybe get to play the game then" I'd still be on the constant upgrade path. Consols didn't kill the PC market, the developers did.
Any of my European friends worried about the vast knowledge our acquaintances from over the water know about guns, bullets and how well they kill each other?
If it's anything like the PC game scene, there was always a disclaimer in the NFO and it went like this:
This copy is for testing purposes only. If you want to play online, buy the game. We did.
Most people who wanted to play online, bought the game. It was always seen as fair.
It was also seen as fair when patches wouldn't install. Wait, do without or buy the game were the options and people were happy with that.
I chipped my original XBOX. I downloaded pretty much every game. Not once did I take them online. I buy all my 360 games because Live offers so much more that I wouldn't want to do without it.
Rottweilers have never been dangerous though. One or two had funny five minutes and bite a few people. The media blew it out of proportion and now people thing they are dangerous dogs.
I must admit though, a neighbour has two of them and they can be intimidating.
Certain breeds are inbred physcopaths. They are mentally ill. They have been bred to be agressive over many generations. They have been bred to have less nerve endings in the skin. They have been bred to have bigger teeth, stronger jaws, and smaller ears (that can't be bitten off). They are designed to inflict damage.
Some dogs are bred to be dangerous. Most dogs are great pets.
I never understand people at work who leave their wallets and car keys on their desk. Sometimes they'll disappear for the whole day leaving their wares in show.
What is wrong with keep a wallet in a pocket?
These people deserve to be taught a lesson in not-trusting-opportunists.
Being British, I have not heard of Glenn Beck. After reading the Slashdot summary, I now believe he did rape and murder a young girl in 1990. Does someone want to tell me different?
Get a DC client. Even heavily modded "rooms", with a high share requirement attract people with CP files. I know, I modded one for years. I would ban 5 people a day.
Does anyone buy games without trying them first? For me, if there is no demo, there is no sale.
I haven't even read a review in 20 years.

Car theives around here already spread the contents of an ashtray into the car they've stolen to contaminate evidence.
You know one of the most popular lagers in the UK came from Belgium? Only we've left ours stronger.
Tourist.
In these parts, "merchant" is rhyming slang for something else. I think it's a very fitting description.
Excellent idea!

And every password cracking program I've used gives the option to replace letters with symbols.

It is trivial.

Add moddifiers to insightful, interesting and informative posts. I have a +2 on funny posts and Slashdot is a much more comical place as a result.
Tia maria, in an optic glass, dropped in the pint of beer. Depth-charge!
Freedom hater! Troops, invade!
We, the US citizens, cannot let this these foreign laws stand. Invade!
Ask for a brown paper bag full of cash in exchange for your silence.
I thought we all came here for the women? That's what I was told anyway. It must be my turn soon.

The easiest way to stop piracy is to lower the price of content. Didn't Apple et al work this out years ago?
Looking at it from the opposition's point of view, they would have to lower costs too. Labour costs being the first and easiest to reduce.
I have highlighted the only problem and that problem is not ours.
