In regards to the Directory Access / malicious DHCP vulnerability, the "use DHCP-supplied LDAP server" option is turned on by default. For this vulnerability to be exploited, either you're using an "untrusted" network or your network got hacked!
If you don't use a DHCP / LDAP server then its recommended that you turn it off.
This is from the apple site: You don't use a directory service
Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
From the Go menu, choose Applications.
Find the Utilities folder and double-click to open it.
Open the Directory Access utility.
Click the lock button, type your password, and click OK
to authenticate.
Select the LDAP service and click Configure.
Deselect the "Use DCHP-supplied LDAP Server" option. See Figure 1.
Click OK. Your computer is no longer susceptible to this exploit.
I was looking at the Canon Eos Rebel 2000. The price and features on the Canon were very similar to the Nikon N65. The major difference being the lens mount. So I decided to go with the Nikon.
You really can't go wrong with either a Nikon or the Canon. Nikkor and Canon lenses both have great optics. I got the Nikon N65 over the Canon because of the beefier lens mount.
Make sure and save up for some nice lenses. Even if you decide to go digital later, you'll be able to use same lenses. I'm sure you already know but the body of the camera is only as good as the lenses that you use.
I remember seeing a news story a while ago regarding Snapple iced tea.
Some people thought that the 'K' on the bottle stood for "KKK". The 'K' was for Kosher. They also thought that the Boston tea party depicted on the bottle was of a picture of slaves being traded.
People read into things too much.
Ignorance breeds hatred but reciprocating ignorance breeds "political correctness".
Please. Railing against "political correctness" is its own kind of egotistical wankery.
You're not being very politically correct.:)
We're not the only culture to have slavery in our history. It would be egotistical to single us out. Cultures throughout history has enslaved others if not to a greater degree. I'm not defending the act of slavery but just point out the that fact.
I think the real issue is not about the master/slave semantics but its just a way for the politicians to earn some votes without doing any real work.
I just wish politicians would be politically correct and focus more on issues that affect the general public on a day-to-day basis.
For instance, in one site, they used different door locks and therefore couldn't use a master key. The central administrator kept a ring of keys for all of the doors, and put the keys to the confidential office safe on the same ring. It was relatively simple to penetrate her desk to get this ring of keys and access virtually everything.
Didn't Neo use this exploit to gain access to the Architect?
troll? guess this post may be one too (mod me down if you must)
anywho, about the only good game that was released in the US for the Saturn was VirtuaFighter.
Of course, there were tons of games that weren't released here in the states was only available in Japan or if you had a mod chip and had a source for import games.
I could careless how much processing power a console has, if there is no good software to back it up (or lack distribution or translation) then the console is doomed to die.
This is the reason why I'm still contemplating buying an X-box.
The insulting and the ignorant comment is the idea that ALL East Asian companies are a bunch of thieves. That is implied in your statements as well as the parent commment. You're using a wide brush here pal.
"Do as I say and not as I do" should not be the policy. US companies in the past have done similar things.
Don't get me wrong, I do agree with some of the things said about the infrigment of the IP however, I can't sit and watch people call a whole group of Nations a "bunch of thieves." That to me is racist.
As far as piracy in Taiwan and Hong Kong...lets deal with piracy here in the US...

Technology analysts have said the domestic CPU is supposed to reduce China's dependence on Intel and other chipmakers such as Advanced Micro Devices for both financial and security reasons.
China wants to install its own chips in sensitive military devices to retain better control, they say.
These "Dragon" procs are mainly for military use. Why else go through all that trouble of engineering a new proc when it could be bought off the self???
Then he proceeds to run this card at 1600x1200 with beta drivers against cards with excellent debugged drivers. Any sort of numerical or empirical evidence he could get at this point is about.05% useful to me.
Debugged drivers or not, Trident claimed that the GPU had 80% of the performance of the Geforce 4 Ti 4600. With those claims, it should perform better than the ~5 FPS even at the high resolutions despite the drivers.
I bet you that same card will belt out over 60fps at 1024x768 when the real drivers are released.
I'll prolly belt out over 60 FPS in a heated game of Solitaire.

I'm sure they'll produce something. They'll prolly go as far as to charge the court a fee of $599 per copy. :)
For people I really don't care for, I tell them to get a Dell or something.
Its too much hassle dealing with issues with puters brought on by the downloading various crapware.
I'll be too busy inspecting Trinity's pores.

No no no. you got it all wrong.
Phase one: collect underpants
Phase two: [Silence]
Phase three: profit.
Maybe the real reason is that they have no one in their IT department left to help them due to outsourcing.
Didn't Neo use this exploit to gain access to the Architect?
For $600, SCO will sell you a license to use 'ctrl-alt-del'.
It wouldn't make you less human but could you sue them for false advertisement?
fenotype (sp? phenotype) :)
Ill tempered sea bass with freakin' "lazers"
Sounds very sinister. :)
Maybe you got the "deal" cuz it was defective. :)

When your IT person tells you that your CRT is a good size, s/he is really saying that its too small. :)
I'm gonna wait to buy until BMW 745i SP 1 comes out.
:)
Does 745i come with "windows update"?

lets sue them...maybe we can use the DMCA...RIAA...and MPAA to go after them!
This kind of IP thievery has always been a hallmark of east Asian technology.
I don't know what country you live in but I wouldn't make such blanket assumptions. Its not only insulting but it makes you sound very ingnorant.
