It's what killed off the Dreamcast in the first place. Nintendo is still selling their NES games as E-Reader cards and putting them in games as extras.. Why not be legit and buy them for a change instead of letting companies go belly up?
So if they go after ONE person, they also have to go after the other 700 million people downloading as well because not one person is more accountable than any other. It's entirely balanced distribution, and finding the original contributor is all but impossible after it has been released to more that one machine. I dont think they could drag anyone to court and honestly answer why the other 699,999,999 people aren't there as well, it would be discrimination.
If you read the numbers they expected to be shipped and the sale they expected, they were way off. XBox2 most likely wont ever happen as the entire XBox division is the single most damaging aspect to Microsoft shares. Everything else is making money while the XBox division is going belly up (Literally).. 4 Billion in losses and counting, it's only going to get worse with another XBox. They have a huge war chest, but they wont have anything after all of this.
Which will be out before the XBox, so what advantage will this have for the XBox2? If you ask me there wont be an XBox2, there is no reason to make it unless XBox1 can show profits, instead of doubling losses every quarter.
It's been known since the GC came out that it can be made for around $90 a unit. That is why Nintendo still has PROFITS, while Microsoft has LOSSES. It is known that Microsoft is losing $150 per console sold. No one knows ANYTHING about the PS2.

It's about FUN GAMES. Period. Something which Nitnendo has been dominating Sony and Microsoft since the early 80s. Nothing has ever sold more than Mario and Zelda. You mention HALO, that's fine.. What else is there? Nothing... Thats why! You can give crap games all the online stuff in the world and they'll still be a crap game. In online gaming on the PC where people are used to playing againts thousands of users, 8-24 player deathmatch is simply lacking, they shouldn't even bother. Just my lame opinion, I know.. But yes, Microsoft is the runt of the three, they have no idea what they're doing, so they've gone the route of "hey, lets make this thing JUST like the computer I own already and see if anyone notices!"..

Of course they're losing money for every unit sold. In some countries this is called "dumping" which is illegal. I'm curious why no one has spanked them on this issue. Nintendo has always stated that their systsme costs under 100 to make, and no one really knows about Sony, but it's safe to assume they're making a profit as well.
I would definately watch a lot of movies this way if it were actually cheaper than renting them for 5-7 days.. If these only last 48 hours, and you dont have to return them, that means no late fee's which is good. As long as they're around $1 or $2 a movie for 48 hours i'd be okay with it. Anything more and it would be a very very dumb idea.
XBox might be decent if your system is too slow, but to upgrade it decently will still cost about the same as an XBox.. Plus you will get all the mods and levels people will make, which you wont get on the XBox version.
That, and 10 years from now when you've got a P12 Gforce FXP 50 that can do 2400x1600 3D fluid on your 50" monitor, you might be happy to play this instead of the 640x480P version on the XBox...............
Like all other FPS on consoles, I simply cannot control them. Because of this fact, I thought the game totally stunk. I'll be replaying it again on the PC to see if it was the controls that made it that way or if the game really was that bad.
Who wants a bunch of crummy bugs and imcompatabilities? Just go buy a PSX at your local shop for a few bux.. They dont even cost anything anymore.. The only reason I could see why someone would want this on their XBox is to pirate games (As usual.)....

And to this day they STILL all make me tingly, even the newer ones. Nintendo has a grasp of my childhood and wont let it go. But, im okay with that, im a 30 year old Nintendo freak and loving all these new games and consoles. I'm pretty sure i'll be playing Nintendo games when im 90 as well.. They are timeless.
Why haven't their parents or school installed porn filters? Why haven't they been limited access till they're old enough? My parents wouldn't let me watch certain TV when I was young, I dont see how this is any different. And no, I couldnt just go to a friends to watch stuff, their parents were the same way. Everyone looked out for their kids and what they could watch and read. No, not all can be stopped, but it starts with the parents because they're the ones who decided to bring you into this world, they know bad stuff exists, and they need to shelter you as they see fit.
Considering Halo was entirely ripped off from the Terminator: Future Shock / SkyNet shooters from nearly 8 years ago right down to the vehicals and multiplayer, it wouldn't be fair to say HL had to compete with that.
If anything, it has a BIG contention with PlanetSide from Sony, a FPS with up to 4000 players on a single server. There is no way HL2 will be able to come close to that. Wait till this sucker hits the stores, it's more addicting than Everquest. FPS games will mean nothing after this game, unless they can come up with their own massive multiplayer feature. Sure, single player might be the ONLY thing left for HL2 to have going for it, but EVERYONE is "DOES IT SUPPORT MULTIPLAYER?? NO?? IT SUX!!!".. Now it's "DOES IT SUPPORT 4000 PLAYERS PER SERVER?? NO?? IT SUX!!!"...

I'm going to stay very far away from this game no matter how good it might be for that reason alone. I refuse to give in to the Microsoft monopoly. Its so damn sad one of the best gaming coders has collapsed under the might of the Microsoft Monopoly. F'that. Bleh.
Seriously, those who have HDTVs AND need a progessive scan dvd player, the LAST place they're going to look is a crappy console to do it. You're missing all the options of dedicated progressive scan players offer, not to mention the picture quality is shoddy at best. Those with the big toys dont comprimise. This is why Nintendo never bothered, no one needs this crap. We have it already in a much better form.
And thats the facts, jack. I pray Carmack will "Do the right thing"(tm) and stay away from those monopolistic bastards at Microsoft. Anyone who has a shred of decency in the software developement world knows better to deal with Microsoft.
