The more people save, the less money is being spent. The less money being spent, the less items companies will produce. Cutbacks are equal to layoffs, so even more people are out of work and spending less.
How can illegal money be taxed? You think the drug dealers are going to charge sales tax?
I'm sure SCO has good lawyers....or maybe not, they haven't actually won anything yet... But I'm willing to bet the federal government has better lawyers than SCO does. There's no way they can possibly win this.
Reading other posts about DVDs, CDs, etc... the first thing I noticed is that Congress most likely doesn't realize they are similar. There is probably a good chance this will pass and DVDs will not, but I think it could be argued that those codes are trade secrets that they do not have to release.
Budweiser is just another beer. Let's not start a beer war.
That being said, there could be privacy issues here, but on the other hand....maybe they can adjust how much overstock goes to each store. Nobody wants old, skunked beer.
Just because you got nothing to hide doesn't mean someone should know where you are at all times, or what you're doing.
Think about the most embarrassing time of your life. Now put it on camera. Still like the idea of big brother? Not to mention the leaked big brother footage of them in compromising situations....the stuff they didn't put on tv.
Can those morons at doubleclick really think it's a good idea to make ads evade ad blocking software? If people don't want to see the ads, why show them?
They're like the guest that won't leave. Take a hint.
Hit the wrong button, so I'm replying to my own post.
Call of Duty is the best game this year in my opinion. The engine is spectacular, and being able to shoulder the weapon is a new idea. I hope more games in the future take advantage of this innovation. Single Player is a little short, but I would imagine there will be add-on packs...
As for RTS type games, Empires: Dawn of the New World is the best of this year because it is historically accurate in its campaigns (far as I can tell), and has an excellent story line filled with curve balls.
How can the use of master/slave possibly be offensive to anyone when talking about hard drives? It has nothing to do with people. Even talking about master/slave as it is can't be offensive... They're just words, it's just history.
I'd say we've had our share of crap from the human potential movement. When is all this garbage going to go away?
That is to a large extent true! Without people skills, you really cannot get a job, or do it well. Communications are probably one of the most important things they look for now. That's why so many companies like people who know foreign languages. If you can't communicate, how can you get ideas across?
Who would know Steven Hawkins is a genius if he didn't have that computer to talk for him?
That's a recipe for a recession, or a depression.

This is a joke, right?
Don't be surprised when they realize you screwed up their name, change it, and they smack the hell out of you for it.
I can't believe someone would even seriously consider naming their kid based on an internet fad language.
When are they just going to start calling themselves the nobles and the rest of us peasants?
Off topic and incoherent. Who +1'd that?

I just hope this doesn't raise taxes.
Before linux has games, it NEEDS support for top of the line and new hardware.
As of now, many high end graphics cards, especially the ATI ones have very sketchy support, if any. Many sound cards are in the same boat.
Just seems to me like this would be the natural progression toward decent gaming on linux.

My buddy is a crow and he likes crappy beer too. What is with you crows? Get some taste buds for christ sake.... :-P
Of course American laws aren't applicable to outside America.
And contrary to what you think, America is also the civilized world...but we take spelling in the second grade.
XP Reloaded...
The worst of the trilogy...

Can't wait to smell all the aliens and toxic waste in Half-Life 2.
And the burning flesh in Wolfenstein.
It's definatly worth giving Lionheart a try. It is, by far, the most dynamic game I've ever played, and for once an RPG can keep my attention.
At $25 you can't go wrong. It mixes history with fantasy, in a way...
There aren't very many multiplayer games, hopefully that will change.
http://lionheart.blackisle.com/ is the website. It has a demo and a lot more information. The 1.1 Patch fixes a few bugs that are in the demo.
Privacy, thanks.

You'd think if they had to hide it this much they would realize people don't want it.
As for SpyBan - probably a good lawsuit right there for false advertising.
Who knows. It's NY Times....some of it is true, some of it isn't.
Maybe someone knows of additional information from another source?

I wonder what kind of crappy laws they'll try to place on the use of their lines, and what useless organization they'll pay to enforce it.
Since when do you need proof to convict someone?

But they did change to macs for a while for something, right? I want to say probably...5 years ago. Thought I read it somewhere...
Didn't the military (US) change to macs a couple years back due to bad security in Windows?
With crazy MS prices, they're bound to start to lose business.... More money you pay, the more holes there are.
Are universities next? I'd say the special redhat educational licensing is mighty tempting over expensive MS site licenses.
