Agreed. I also thought the music was great. Normally, I turn the music in games off (if supported) and put on my own music. However, the soundtrack for Mirror's Edge actually set a pretty good mood.
My biggest grief with Eve Online is that, although you don't have to be logged in all the time, only one of your three character slots can be training skills.
If you want to create an alt on the same account, you have to do so at the expense of another character's development. I know they do this so they can get people to sign up for multiple accounts, but it makes it really makes the other two character slots almost pointless (except for throwaway gate scouts and such).
I found this out on Wednesday. Apparently my cable company couldn't justify paying for on of my favourite channels. They didn't even wait until midnight. It was gone early in the morning on the 31st. Now I can't justify paying their bill.
Not many, but you'll get blown to bits (and probably podded) in unsecured space by pirate kiddies going "lolollol ZERG RUSH kekekekeke!!1". The Shuttle has no weapons or shields. And no warp drive.
No, but I hear the Tech II foam can be pretty dangerous.
There are sometimes differences between Scifi and BBC America too. [Spoiler, if you're that far behind, or Canadian?]
I have my DVR set to record episodes on both. "Voyage of the Damned", the Titanic episode with Kylie Minogue, recorded as 1.5 hours on BBCA and only an hour on Scifi (both with commercials). After watching the 1.5 hour version, I scanned through the 1 hour version. It ended shortly after they clipped Buckingham palace. The Doctor didn't leave the old man on Earth or say goodbye to Astrid's ghostly presence. They just went to credits after the Doctor made some comment about not everyone surviving.
Perhaps it's because I'm not pushing the bounds of Linux or what my laptop can do, but I haven't had (m)any issues with the 64-bit version of FC9. The only thing that came close to an issue was hunting down and installing some 32-bit packages that specifically required 32-bit versions of my already-installed 64-bit RPMs.
I can see how that could turn into a nightmare as people try to install more and more software, and the developers are only churning out 32-bit packages with 32-bit dependencies.
Yup, I once accidentally rebooted one of those bar-top touchscreen games that take a dollar at a time from barflies. It was running some customized X app on top of Linux. I didn't get a great look, as I was shoo'ed away by the owner.
Mayor is fine...the splatter damage area is greatly reduced to maybe no more than the tri-county area. Regan fscked us with onerous debt and Sonny Bono gave us unconstitutionally long copyright terms.
Using "splatter" and "Sonny Bono" in the same post... I laughed quietly to myself and felt horrible about it.
With every purchase on the internet I perceive a little unease. There go my credit card details to yet another party. I may not be going to risk it for a low-priced item (come to think of it, I cannot recall buying low-priced items over the Internet). He talks about Steam, which I presume is a sales outlet for software/games. He wants the buyer to buy from him (as it is not easy to join Steam).
Very good point. I was RTFA and I saw his banner for Democracy2. It looked like a pretty interesting game and I saw the blurb about how it once had DRM, but it was now removed. At that price, I was pretty much sold on trying the full version without trying the demo; partially because of the game looked interesting and partially to support what I thought was a respectable approach to the issue. I daren't try to purchase and download on my company laptop, but I planned on investigating when I get home. However, I've been turned away from many online purchases because I just don't have confidence in the trustworthiness of the site. (I'm not saying this about his site. I haven't looked at his purchase and download mechanism yet). Whereas, if I could get the game from some retailer for which I already have an account, I probably would.
I believe Riker was a "Commander", but he still answered to the Captain. I think it's just a high enough position in the food chain, such that you could be put in charge while the captain is taking a nap. (I think Picard turned in by 4pm after a mildly warm dish of replicated creamed-corn)
Also, did Wayne Enterprises ever just have a stinker of an idea that lost the company money? That goliath of a company seems to always do well, leading to almost infinite funding for Bruce's "hobby". Admittedly, Wayne Enterprises is not on my stock ticker.
"Mount & Blade" continues to keep me busy. Sometimes I just wanna ride around swinging a big axe at people.

In a somewhat unrelated note, Happy Birthday Isaac Asimov.

How many hours do I have to train in Eve Online before I can fly it?

What sort of Nazi made up that rule?
Wow, I've never actually seen anyone Godwin themselves.
Rose Tyler: If you are an alien how come you sound like you're from the North? The Doctor: Lots of planets have a north!
Not a problem. A soccer game in the US stands a very good chance of remaining unobserved.

To be fair, sometimes jokes go so far overhead that the whoosh would be imperceptible

Sometimes the argument is made that there are other costs to society involved in riding (and crashing) without a helmet.
TNG brought a little class and dignity to the galaxy. Kirk and those crazy, sex-ed up hooligans were just out there causing trouble.
int eighty?

Done. All I have left in this world is my Slashdot ID. If it's not the end of the world, I'm gonna be pissed!
Exactly! Now to get him back, I think we just reverse the polarity.
Nah, we thought we lost him before, but he came back... TNG "Relics"
