I'm wondering if brain damage is less because of the lack of oxygen and more because of the build up of CO2 and various toxins that are normally carried away by the blood.
Sounds like this would be a good time to get someone to introduce a new bill in congress that would pevent a company from doing this. Something along the lines that when a company like Microsoft buys a company that has a product for it's rivals (Linux, Mac, etc), it would have to provide the product to the market place for 3 years and support for 5. If after that time there is no product like it available in that market, the company has to sell the rights to the product to another company or open source it.
but his brain was smaller than average size overall, just a couple of regions were larger. Also while women's brains are smaller than men's on average they are no less intelligent than men. This is most likely due women's brains being more tightly packed.
Finding life on Mars would be interesting and change much of the outlook of humanity however I think I would prefer that they don't find life on it. That would avoid the whole debate on the effect of teraforming on Martian life and if we should do it at all.
I was somewhat annoyed that Enterprise was canceled since this season was covering a lot of ground mentioned in TOS. Beside the idiots that schedule it's airplay at the same time as Sci-Fi channel's top rated shows, I think one of the major issues with Star Trek is that they have jumped so much in the past and had so many stories that told about the future of Star Fleet. They writers have backed themselves into corners so to speak with the plots. To few mysteries remain. At this point it's just filling in the gaps.
I'd like to see them come up with a time travel paradox story line that messes things up so bad it can't be undone, effectively rebooting the whole thing. Or a story line that creates a patchwork universe out of different universes. Bring in new unknowns and minimize some of the known elements. One where the Vulcans never took the path of logic or the Romulans never split off from them. The Klingons never freed themselves from their oppression. There are lots of things that could be done but they need to make a major change.
The failure of the Amiga wasn't due to Rexx. If anything Arexx helped keep the Amiga in use for years. Lightwave users missed not having Arexx on the Windows port.
The failure of the Amiga was due to the execs at Commodore. They'd rather take trips to the Bahamas than do any real marketing. -Andrea-
I really thing that the decline of people watching Enterprise is the result of it being against two Stargate Series and Battlestar Galactica. Working out a deal to put it on Sci-Fi would be their best move. -Andrea-
Why not just glasses that go dark when the kids see something not approved by their parents and earplugs to block their hearing. Even better, how about a neural block that induces total sensory blackouts when they experience something that disturbes the parents. - Andrea -
Well the tech industry has generally been a more progressive and accepting of differences in people. It has usually been one of the few where tg, lesbian, gays and bi or other people don't have to worry as much about being fired under mysterious conditions. It sounds like MS is making some backdoor deals with the Bush administration where they get more government contracts in exchange for withdrawing support this bill. - Andrea -
This isn't just a problem for end users. It's also a problem on the support end. I worked as a Tier 2 support tech for a broadband company and I seemed to be the only one there that understood there was a problem with the DNS servers. I would constantly get calls that had been passed back and forth through customer service, tier 2 and to the ISP's network support then back down the chain. A simple ipconfig/flushdns would get the customer back online but I had been specifically told not to do that but did it anyway.
The cable ISP I subscribe to has the problem also. They don't have their own DNS servers. They use a DNS subscription service which is to many hops away for my liking. I was having to clear my DNS cache several times a day and then I decided to traceroute to see who the ISP's provider was. I grabbed their DNS address, hard coded it into my router and the problem was solved along with having faster DNS lookup. - Andrea -
I think a lot of the problems with the handheld computer market is the price. Those devices tend to cost as much as a desktop computer with much less functionality. Many people can't justify spending the money on such a high cost device. I would like to upgrade from my Treo 300 but honestly I can't see myself doing that for awhile. - Andrea -
What they need to do is work out a deal to air it on Sci-Fi channel. At least it won't be running against the top science fiction dramas on TV. Putting it on Friday really did it in. I'm glad I have a two channel DirectTivo. - Andrea -
From what they said, the code doesn't apply to data lines. We had low current boxes in place but didn't terminate the lines until the house was finished. We used modular connectors from Altex.

My gf and I recently had a house built and we wired it with CAT5 and coax. While I'm not happy with the builder we had, they did let us go into the house and wire it.
We also took lots of photos of the house of the house during various stages of the build.
It's possible that there might be some kind of quirk in the laws of physics that makes the organization of life an inevitable process under the right conditions. As much as religious people discount science when they don't understand it or find it in opposition to their view; they are quick to embrace it when it's compatible with they're views. Religion by nature, especially the predator religions are very two faced. They would embrace any knowledge of a quirk like this as proof of god.
I'm not religious but it seems to me that the religious people are missing the real issue. It's not creation vs evolution; it's controlled evolution vs uncontrolled evolution. Evolution is a fact but the real question is if it was directed by an some unknown entity(s) (god, aliens, etc) or by chaotic enviromental conditions.
I don't think robots should eat as they are just machines.
Androids on the other hand are a different issue entirely. That largely depends on how much you want them to interact with humans in a social setting and if their minds are direct transfers from a human. A good alternative to eating traditional food would be for them to eat some kind of faux food, which would have texture and something to tell the android's mind what it should taste like. The faux food could be something that the robot could use to power or maintain it's systems. Or it could just be something to be excreated and recycled later.
You try working a corporate help desk and see if you go brain dead at the end of the day. Besides I didn't see the word cutout anywhere in the webpage.
What happens when your driving in the rain and hit some mud, it fills up the spokes then hardens when it dries? This somewhat reminds me of the Mars rover's wheels but not in a spiral. At least NASA filled the spokes with a flexible sealant.
I had mud get on the inside of a tire rim once, talk about a bumpy ride.
The whole Hydrogen thing is more for placing the burden of keeping polution down on the power plants and making us feel better about being a mobile society.
I've wondered for years why the US government isn't taking precautions to prevent some terrorist group from using a small nuke to blow that side of the island off. They seriously need to take precautions on that one. The worst case scenario think tanks in the covert goverment agencies seem to have totally missed this one.
I wouldn't mind being in one of those think tanks, I have a twisted enough imagination to think up things like this but not evil enough to act on them. When a friend and I get together to work on story ideas, we can be really scary. He scared a forensics specialist once with a story idea.
Anyone notice that Firefox has been getting more popups lately?

Take a look at this article called Deep, Dark Secrets of His and Her Brains.

That just means they could take trips there on corporate money. It must have been nice to take tropical island vacations on the company bankroll.

In a way humans do because what we eat is excreated then recycled back into food by nature.
I don't think robots should eat as they are just machines.

Are the nurses cute?

Yes, as a former pizza delivery person, I totally agree with you!!!
