There are a couple known problems with the first spin of the Phenom die (codename Agena).
The first (and less relevant) problem is the TLB errata. The second (and more relevant to this discussion), is a problem in which core #2 (out of [0,1,2,3]) is lower yielding than the first three. For example, on the same CPU die, cores [0,1,3] may work fine at 2.6Ghz, but core [2] yields only at 2.0GHz. This is a widespread problem, mostly found out through failed overclocking attempts.
Intel is currently using their manufacturing process(es) to increase/extend their performance (and performance per watt) lead. Currently Intel is using 65nm and have been for a year or so, with plans to move to 45nm sometime in late 2007/early 2008. AMD is still on 90nm, with 65nm starting late 2006, with mass production in 2007.
AMD's 90nm chips are *PRETTY CLOSE* in performance/heat dissipation to Intel's 65nm chips, and they completely destroy Intel's 90nm chips in both performance and performance per watt.
With there being a physical limit to how small you can engrave transistors on silicon, Intel is just rushing to that point way faster than AMD. So whenever Intel hits a sticking point on process technology advancement, AMD will still have 1-2 generations of process technology improvement (since they're "behind" manufacturing-process wise).
Basically what this says to me is that AMD's design(s) are still far superior, and they still have a LOT of headroom if they can extract the same performance gains from die-shrinks as Intel has.
Microsoft soft-enforcing WGA (Windows Genuine Advantage) on Windows XP.. There are a LOT of illegal copies of XP Pro VLK edition (the one that was so great because it had no activation required) floating around... I know I've seen it on many non-computer-savvy-people's PC's that I've worked on.
All of those copies of XP are now loudly announcing that they are "Not Genuine Copies of Microsoft Windows". When these people get hit with a nearly $300 pricetag (that's $300 + $100 for my time) for a non-OEM, non-upgrade copy of software they've been using for free for many years, they are often very interested in cheap or free alternatives. And since most people only really need Web + EMail + OpenOffice + mplayer + (not much else exotic), they are often open to Linux due to its free-as-in-beer-ness.
Everyone call BellSouth's tech support EVERY time a download is slow (below the speed they paid for). They will be so mired in support calls that they will have to re-consider the policy.
This is not true anymore, now that 7200rpm scsi drives have gone the way of the ghost (and the only manufacturer who makes 10k SATA drives, is also one of the only manufacturers who does NOT make scsi drives)
I mean, if the slowest-spinning scsi drive you can buy is 10000rpm, and the fastest-spinning ide drive you can buy from the same company is 7200rpm, it's pretty obvious that they're different.
Google finance and Yahoo finance both provide free real-time quotes, and have for some time now.

Google it yourself and find out..
Probably means MMS messages over 300KiB.
Steve Jobs' bill looks like this: Total amount due: $0.00
GO BEARS
No they do not block port 80, I run web AND email (pop and smtp) on a box attached to my cable modem.
Works great.
DHCP, FTW!!!!
Dapper Drake (6.06) was an LTS release. Edgy Eft (6.10) was not an LTS release. Does anyone know if Feisty Fawn will be LTS or not?
Don't underestimate the bandwidth of a transporter beam full of tapes !
I think this post was an exercise to find the maximum amount of ways to mis-spell "leopard".

MurderFS ftw!!!
Better than that : 100% Libertarian.
There are PCMCIA USB2.0 cards out there, you know...

Evil Clowns are cool.
If this proposed law were already on the books, would it put Dick Cheney in jail for exposing one of our CIA agents (in the valerie plame fiasco)?

Is it THX compliant?
BitTorrent is not your friend. NNTP + newzbin + nzb-o-matic is your friend. get a pay news server for $15 a month and you're good to go.

EASY CHEESE !
Remove that 'something' in the second sentence. Thank God for proofreading :)
Does this mean that in the near future, computer use will be linked to marijuana use?
Sounds like something the US nanny-government needs to declare a War On Computers(TM).

Precisely.
