right then... quote only half of my sentence to have a reason to call me dickhead.
I never said it was it was bad, I criticized the UI and ONLY the UI (yeah yeah, I know they are working on it!). All I commented was what I saw, and honestly, It aint't pretty. OO.org which this is based on is great except the UI, all versions, all platforms.
So what if OfficeX costs $300, It's my freaking money, if a product in my opinion is worth that I'll pay it, OSS/Free? Sure, just donate a to the project. (Do you think those hard working coders make a living out of peace, love and code??).
Great start (and work) but, as a mac user, it still looks like shit compared to OfficeX or any other native OS X application. Hint: Use native wiggets.
Modern mail clients. Kontact, Kmail, Evolution, Balsa even. Kontact rocks for syncs to my handheld computer. What do you get with Windoze, a mail client that lacks a spell checker?
Sorry, but Outlook 2k3 is probarly one of the best mail clients around. Nothing I've used (Yes, tried all the above) even comes close, except maybe Mail.app on OSX combined with AdressBok and iCal as a good second place.
All MS and other companies ads I see on sites I like and support, I usally click on the ads and follow a few links. Just so the sites I like have som cash income. End of the day, microsoft pays for supporing anti-microsoft sites.. and I still use Linux!:)
Crap, now 13 year old kids are buying stuff I've been putting off as 'too expensive'. I gotta get myself a piece of this lucrative babysitting racket...
What does people here use to develop java on OS X? I've tried Eclipse, wich is fast, but lacks of GUI editor. Netbeans would be great, if it wasn't that it is horribly slow and bind CTRL-C and CTRL-V for copy and paste operations (We apple folks uses APPLE key+C/V for that stuff).
I'm considering JBuilder X... wich seems the best option so far..
1.4.x upgrade gave quite a performance boost... I code som medium size java projects wich compiles at acceptable speed. Btw I have the older 1ghz model with slower memory and slower processor.

FF is more is snappier, but it does not handle certificates to my online bank, so I'm "stuck" with Mozilla, and are quite happy with it.
... why not just stop this discusting habbit? I mean like, everybody knows it kills you?? right?
So how about it, IBM? You've got nothing to lose! Want to make a lot of geeks happy and release that final patent into the public domain?
.... time to cash in, in their own game!

...
all of our pc's have NO OS installed and we set them up to baseline with an image file, then take the next 5 days patching, rebooting, upgrading..
Sound like you are working on a smal shop too, spending 5 days to setup a computer...
One of the perennial criticisms of MS software is the bloat. Is bloatware some how ok if it's open source? Of course it isn't.
Amen to that brother.
I'm out of cash so I can't test.
:)
Dude! it's only 99c!

I like the drawer, but it slides out on the left side, while every other OSX app which uses drawers slides to the right... thats pretty annoying!
Nah... I reboot once every few months or so.. I don't want to forget how I reboot my Mac :)
