I dunno, I'm running Gentoo on my laptop and GCC 3.3 is still masked. Not that I don't trust 3.3, but when a major computer company touts a new version of software as "proven" I just kinda wonder. But I digress. Possibly this new speedup could be by Apple using GCC 3.3 with some more aggressive compiler flags. Red letter date. Apple learns about -O3 -mcpu=PPC750 -fomit-frame-pointer -(etc etc)
Go ahead and redundant me for it, but open up an excel spreadsheet and press scroll lock and move around with the arrow keys and then take it off and try again.
I'm never actually going to go around shooting the heads off of innocent pedestrians just to see the blood spurt out of their necks, but in GTA: Vice City, I can do just that. I can also drive around in a tank and blow things up, and all without anyone getting harmed. I'm not a violent person, but I do enjoy some violence.
Nothing like "winging" a prostitute at 100 yards. They get this damned confused look on their face and then they shake it off and keep walking.
Strange. I just thought he was just a TV exec. For those not familiar he is the head of Newscorp, parent company of Fox and Sky.
I was also interested as to why Sobig made it and Blaster/Lovsan did not. Blaster forced people off the net because their systems were constantly rebooting. Sobig was just a clever e-mail that has been used before.
Unlike Macrovision which causes the brightness to fluctuate, Goatsevision, when recorded via an unauthorized method will randomly show the Goatse man in a variety of poses. Optionally for childrens films, we can embed a variety of celebrities that children find frightening, including Paul Rubens, Michael Jackson, Andy Dick, or even Al Sharpton.
Apple caters to more tech savvy people? Surely you have completely lost it. Apple macs the most idiot proof operating systems for the most ignorant users on the planet. I mean come on. Yes there are mac power users like every other arena, but the average mac user barely undersands the concept of mouse.
"found brief fragments of code matching System V code in three generic routines (ate_utils.c, the atoi function " they're complaining about copied atoi code?!?!?! exactly how many variations of converting ascii to integers could there be? And why would anyone care about something so simple? Unless it was a FUD screen...
Yeah but if SGI made a version of atoi, surely it exploits vector optimizations, runs in 64 bits of precision, exploits NUMA and uses OpenGL. It may be 10x the size of the kernel but whoa, it's gotta be cool.
The old STB Velocity 128 video cards WITH TV out will work with an old standard resolution arcade monitor by directly connecting the inputs to the CRT. You can even run the windows version of mame on it. Please no comments about my HTML I have not updated the site in several years and my HTML back then was so bad I'm amazed browsers don't choke.
I got a deal on some Cup Noodles the other day 4 for $1.00. Great because those 2 corn kernels, 3 peas, and a square millimeter of chicken meat. Really make the difference. Actually because I can make it from work using the hot water from the coffee maker. But then again working at MS, you can't starve. They've got dehydrated soup packets in the cupboard, and free coke/pepsi/dr. pepper/juice/milk/coffee etc. Everything a carbon based life form needs to exist.
Being unemployed, I had time to follow the links in people's sigs to learn about their political beliefs. Now I find I only have time to entertain my own thoughts.
How about a new political party based around more open standards. We could call it the Open party. We could make one of it's key points to implement more things into the government that are based on open standards. Maybe even fund more open projects.
Easy, because you limit the UI to something like Qtopia. Desktop linux is so unlimited that to most people if you change the Window Manager, they'll think it is a new OS.
Almost all of their hard drives come with an OS preinstalled. Sometimes even Windows XP Pro! But it's the luck of the draw. You get whatever the previous owner was using.

Redhat must be the anti-fashion. It is not fashionable but very popular. Much like windows.

Lets not feed this Troll.
" Awwwhhh... it had to be a Republician to come out with this. I sure wanted to claim this one for our team."
And which team might that be?
Gentlemen.... Start your Ashcrofts!

IBM buys SGI. Just as a way to piss off SCO without bending to their whim.
Turn your 2000$ PC into a game console that can run at 1600x1200 100fps.
I thought it was because it looked like a bow tie...

There is a page 1 to the article as well that gives some good historical background on measuring light speed.
I had a P5 back in 1996! And it could whip through Windows 95 like nobody's business.
See Solaris's lxrun utility... Runs x86 linux binaries on solaris for intel.
Rowan Atkinson was already the Doctor once. In the "Curse of the Fatal Death".
Why was the above post modded down?
