Vista will also use the Online Certificate Status Protocol (OSCP) for speedier certificate status checking and will implement some extensions to TLS that are outlined in Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Request for Comments (RFC) 3546."

Well Blockbuster price is lower so your statement isn't entirely correct. I've used both services for about a year. Netflix was incredibly smooth and I received movies very fast for the area I lived in. They have a lot of movies that I couldn't find in the brick and mortar stores. So I agree their service was second to none. I decided to save a few bucks and try Blockbuster. These guy's took a week to mail me my DVDs and were ALWAYS out of the movies I wanted to see. Then they would constantly get lost in the mail and the hassle wasn't worth the $3 savings. Secondly, I wanted to use a free rental, but didn't have the coupon on me. I asked the clerk if they could just look up my account. Of course their system isn't that smart and they consider it a totaly different entity. The next time I go in (with the coupon) and they ask me to sign-up for a card and everything. I decline and he turns me down for renting the video. I explain to him I have an online account and why do I need to sign-up for yet another account. I mean really how many things do I have to sign-up for to rent Kids? Because I'm a cheap bastard I was lulled into trying Blockbuster, but 4 weeks later I was happy again with my Netflix subscription. The old adage still goes, "You get what you pay for."

While I understand Jobs' compliants and squabbling he has to keep on pushing. What he has been able to accomplish with Apple is remarkable. Steve Jobs has the foresight to move ahead and come out with new innovative products. In just about every market you're going to have somebody nipping at your heals to try to beat you to the punch. It just so happens the market leader is stealing from the secondary leader this time.

Microsoft has their own set of problems to worry about and I think both operating systems have their own segments in the world today. Really though as of lately I think a lot of people are switching to a Mac. I have friends who have been Windows fans who are fed up with the licensing, security etc etc and have decided to move to the MacOS.

Moreover, I see the problem being were each OS fits into the world. The MacOS always seems to stay with the education systems, graphic arts people, designers, editing and hardcore Mac addicts; while Windows hits up everybody else.

Apple needs to rev up it's marketing and start hitting other users. Eg. Corporate users

One possibility is that Hotmail's market dominance could be affected by rival services better equipped to search through thousands of e-mails.
You're telling me. I've had about 10-15 people fed up with hotmail ask me for Gmail invites and they're spreading them to friends and family as well afterwards. Lately I've been having trouble with hotmail and completely switched over to Gmail because of it. I think hotmail had its time to shine, but hasn't been able to keep up with the any of the new services. The one nice feature that Gmail includes that hotmail doesn't ironically is the ability to forward e-mail, unless I'm just totally blind they seemed to have removed it. The other item I noticed is the decrease in spam after I switched, I barely get any and I use my gmail account to sign-up for everything!

I was a Netfix user who switched to Blockbuster because of the cheaper price. I figured I'd try it out and see how it works. I've been nothing but extremely disappointed with Blockbuster. It now takes about 4 postal days minimum to get to my location. I once waited a 8 days for Alien vs. Predator...yeah I have problems. Netflix took 2 days and never any longer. The $3 I'm saving a month is definitely not worth it and I'm switching back at the end of this month. The one nice feature about Blockbuster was the two free movie rentals with the subscription, however I don't live near any locations so it's utterly useless. Plus the one time I was in a store I didn't have the coupon with me and they don't have any connection with the online store and the brick and mortar store. Unbelieve those non-integrated lying no late fees bastards.
