let's say I write an app that is so CPU & Screen & power intensive it causes batteries to burst.
yes- you can retort that that is apple's fault-- bad design..
but if it's a known limitation, that they plan for- and work out- and don't exceed the parameters of within their approval process-- and yet someone with a jailbroken phone runs the app-- you don't think apple will get sued when the battery leaks?
"It is also in part because more people survive accidents that the cost of insurance goes up. More survivors = more injured = higher medical payments. Similarly, more technology = higher repair cost. There is also a loose correlation in that safer vehicles tend to lead to less safe driving habits. "
" ''They only get the cases when there has either been an arrest or an indictment,'' he said. ''Then they do DNA to confirm or exclude the person. In 25 percent of the cases where they can get a result, they exclude the primary suspect.''
Think about that. In one out of four of those cases, the wrong person gets arrested. These are cases that carry extraordinary prison sentences, and in some cases the death penalty.
Said Mr. Scheck: ''How many of those people would have been convicted had there been no DNA testing?'' "
now-- think more-- once we had DNA testing, we are able to disqualify 25% of those arrested or indicted where DNA is available. if 50% (a made up %) of rape cases have DNA available to compare to- and 25% of those so charged are disqualified as the guilty party
I have a 24 wide in landscape mode, and a 20wide in portrait mode, and use remote desktop (not virtual) too pull 1-3 other full case computers onto the portrait oriented screen as needed. for the 'real' windows desktop, the start bar runs vertically down the portrait monitor (start button & quicklaunch at the top, time at bottom) for all pc's I remote into I keep the start bar at the bottom so I always know which one I'm woking with.... for example, I have one 38 megabyte excel spreadsheet that takes 5-8 minutes to run on the main PC, or about 1 on my monster which I remote into. The monster is also the one which runs my large print jobs unattended... just minimize and maximize mstc.exe
