Also, no vibrato, which is the thing that when tastefully done separates the musicians playing music from the flesh robots playing notes. Well, in my opinion at least.
The Streisand effect claims another victim. If they hadn't tried to suppress it, I'd have no idea that someone somewhere thought of Megan Blockowicz as a "scumbag".
In this case it's more like someone taking a song from someone elses demo and releasing it on your own cd and claiming you wrote it. I don't see many posts on here supporting that kind of behavior.
Also, if my mom barely knew much about copyright I'd tell her she shouldn't be in the business of publishing magazines.
Indeed. After the first season and especially in the third season I got a bit tired of the "Ooh Sylar is bad!", "Ooh now Sylar is in a suit and Bennetts partner!", "Ooh now Sylar is bad again!", "Ooh the Petrellis are Sylars parents!", "Ooh no they lied!". Bennett is bad, good, bad, good, bad, good. It was all a bit World Wrestling Federation. Then the powers. Peter has all the powers. Then Peter has no powers. Then Peter can change powers but just one at a time. Hiro has a power, Hiro loses power. Ando has no power, Ando gains power. Mohinder has no power, Mohinder injects something and gains power We need someone to paint the future again but those guys are all dead so let's give that power to Parkman (who still keeps his old power). If they weren't making it up as they went along they sure did a good job of covering that up.
I found my career on a MUD. I was an english major in Uni when I discovered MUDs. Eventually I became a wizard, i.e an area creator on it. To do that you had to learn to code a bit in LPC. I discovered I enjoyed it and the next year I switched majors to Comp. Sci. and that's what I work with now. Though nothing I'm doing now is as fun as coding big bad monsters for that mud was.:o
It sort of depends on what your definition of the end of the game is. If it means killing the last boss in the last raid then no, it's not single player. If it means getting to max level and getting through the zones then it can be very much so and the game changes to a dungeon equipment grind at that point so it's probably a valid 'end' for quite a few. The vast majority of the quests in the 'outside' world of WoW can be done solo. You can easily get to max level and experience all the zones without ever grouping with another player if you're not a compulsive completist. Even then, most of the group quests can be done alone for most classes and doing the smaller dungeons on the way up is optional.
Of course they're paying themselves. That's one way for hollywood accounting beancounters to funnel profits from accounts where they have to share with creative people to accounts where the beancounters get to keep it all.
The Verve sampled that obscure version of the track and licenced the use of it so that wasn't unintentional. I think the problem was the Stones representatives thought they ended up using too much of the sample in the song. They realized this only after the song became a success, of course.
He's just using Doom as an example. Granted, Doom might not be the best example since they released the source. This magical thing isn't available for all virtual worlds though.
It sure is. My epiphany came one day when I realized it had been 2 years since I last picked up my guitar, something I was quite serious about before I started playing WoW. I quit cold turkey too. I've been back now and then since then to chat and fool around but I'm also one of those who wants to play at the so called top or not at all. Since the top is something I know I can't do anymore, I've hardly felt the pull at all.
It's quite a nice thing that getting back on that hardcore raiding horse with WoW is not that easy. You can't just call your dealer in one second if you get the urge on a tuesday night. You have to put time in to catch up gearwise from where you where when you left off. Even if you manage that on your own (they've made it easier but having to grind heroics for badges with random idiots is an experience that can cure any addict) you have to find and apply to and convince a proper raid guild to take you in. So once you manage to quit for long enough, it's not something you can pick up again on an impulse since it's not just up to you. You'll still have quite a bit of time to consider what you're doing.
Of course they want to prevent bots, that's totally understandable. Most players probably wish them good luck with that. Does that mean players are committing copyright infringement when using something like Glider, and are the makers of Glider guilty of contributory copyright infringement? That's the question. Blizzard says yes. Sane people should say no(!).
Trying getting some newer apps running on my older 10.4 Mac has been futile. I could upgrade the OS on that one if it was really necessary but then I'd lose the use of the music software that requires a dongle whose authentication software only runs on 10.4. I'll think long and hard before ever buying software that requires a dongle again, though that's a separate issue.
There are several ferries daily from Dublin and Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead in Wales and trains from Holyhead straight to London. The ferry only takes about 2-3h depending on which one you go on. Well 'only', but if someone really needs to get to the continent it's not like it's impossible even if the planes are grounded.
I can play FPS, CRPGs, and strategy games with proper controllers (mouse/keyboard).
If things start moving more towards console land, how long will it be before consoles get equipped with proper FPS, CRPG and strategy game controllers?
I really like the movies where they hack into banks and display the progress made with a bar that counts the ammount of dollars that have been transferred to the target account so far.
You don't actually have to replace the pickups in the guitar, you just attach the GK-3 to the body next to the existing pickups.

Spoiler warning, I guess:

What if I set the comment on an mp3 file I seed to 'Shiver me timbers, yarr'. Will it match their MD5 then?

Fun can wait until they're washed up and retired at 18.

Treat is better than cure for drug companies but, to be fair, treat is better than dying for patients as well.

I used to play WoW on my PowerPC Mac Mini. It didn't exactly have superb performance but it did run.
Why won't Valve just start using someone else's engine in order to get their games on the PS3 as well?
I'm a night owl and I've always assumed this is the reason why my penis is so much larger than any weak day walker penis I've seen.
Probably not: http://www.snopes.com/religion/pi.asp
The bad robot was the one they brought along themselves. They used something left behind to take off and escape.

Even while taking those things into account there comes a point when you have to decide if you work to live or if you live to work.
