    I think there is a common failure to understand how belief works. You've used the word "choose" in regards to belief as though belief were a matter of volition. I do not believe that the process of belief works like that. I think it is an involuntary process.

    Perhaps a better understanding of the process of belief would help us to correct errant beliefs?

    "Human Level AI"? Humans aren't exactly doing a wonderful job out there on the streets.

    I wouldn't be at all surprised if the current autonomous systems are already safer than human drivers. Are they going to be infallible? No. But we need to compare the overall safety rates of computer controlled vehicles vs. human controlled vehicles and see what is better.

    If so I want a dozen of these in my city. On my drive into work this morning three cars zipped through the red light 2.5 seconds after it had changed. On my walk during lunch hour at another intersection I watch 2 more vehicles blow through the just-barely red before they entered the intersection.

    Rather than citations, I'd like auto-cannons installed to gun down the offenders.

    If I had a mod point, I'd mod this response upwards.

    The parent to it was considering only capacity. And from a capacity standpoint, no SSD doesn't make any sense and is about 10x the price. But for performance SSD is king and yes, cheaper than the spinning rust.

    It's time to go streaming only. If everyone drops the DVD then they'll have to offer the content on streaming or get beat by a competitor that will offer it. By keeping that just-in-case disc subscription you delay the inevitable change.
