NASA's next Mars lander, the Phoenix mission, will head for the northern arctic region of the red planet in 2007, not only ready to dig for subsurface water ice but also probe for habitats of present day life.
Are they really expecting to find habitats of present day life? If so, what are the chances of such life actually surviving to this day?
It is pretty funny. Remember, this was made 3 years ago, when a lot of that was still true. He's not making up fud. Back when he made it, lots of those problems were existant. Linux is much better off now, having improved greatly in the last three years (from last year to this year, a lot has changed even). Three years ago, lots of the things that are easy today were much harder.
What about the potential fire hazard of flash memory. If you google for Flash omium potential, you will find that under certain conditions, Flash memory will indeed burst into flames. These conditions include higher levels of oxygen, and the like commonly found on airplanes. Does this mean that the use of iBooks and PowerBooks will be banned on airplanes?
Rumors have been circulating that Stella may even be able to meet minimum requirements for Blackcomb, the version of Windows scheduled for release several decades after longhorn.
gigahertz are a fairly useless comparison between different chip types. A 2.0 ghz AMD64 might run circles around your 2.8ghz P4, while a 1.5Ghz Pentium-M could go faster than an AMD XP 1800 without worries. Architectures make this happen. If a 2.0ghz AMD64 can go the same speed as a 2.8ghz P4, obviously the 2.0ghz AMD64 is running more instructions per megahert. This means, that each one counts for more. Thus, a.8ghz increase is a huge increase in speed. Imagine running a 2.0ghz P4. Not very fun, eh? Now, the difference between a 2.0ghz P4 and a 2.8Ghz P4 is smaller than the difference between a 2.0Ghz AMD64, and a 2.8Ghz version of the same exact chip. That is a huge speed increase!
Its good to see that you have lots of supporting evidence. I just love the way you actually prove that religion is false. I put even more trust in you, in the way that you actually make it obvious that real or not, religion is a bad thing. Thank you for being so imformative. You obviously have vote now, INFIDEL!
I don't get how you think this all means death. First off, many people launch potato cannons, and unless you look down the barrel, not much is going to hurt you. Added fireworks, its still safer than the same person launching one normally (no fire during liftoff). And as someone pointed out, it wouldn't be incredibly hard to rig it up electronically. Nothing with fire and bang will ever be 100% if you DIY, but its still probably safer than just shooting it off normally...
I imagine someone in a location where fireworks are legal could rig up a poor mans version using something similar to a Potato Cannon (the pneumatic type).
I hope they don't mean a web service as in a C#/ASP.NET web service. I played around with those some. They are very fast and easy to work with, but not half as responsive as a native application. I've always liked plain old simple programs, and hope MS changes there mind if it is anything like what I've used (I'm probably wrong and it isn't, didn't RTFA).
I really hope it is hackable. I mean, a 2 megapixel digital camera with LCD for $19.99 would be a pretty good deal, even if it takes a day or two, and even 1 or two broken cameras first. I hope someone comes up with a hack!
I know that computers can be addictive. Its hurt my own life a good bit. Half the things I should do, I never get around to doing because I just want to get back to the computer. Still, if your joining the army, you can afford to get off the net. Its not that bad. I once went on a 6 week vacation, and stayed of the internet for all of it, except for those internet cafes. oh, nevermind, I give up! http://www.givedanmoney.com/
Its interesting. Usually, after a few years, a computer product is considered obsolete. iPod seems to be one of the few exceptions to this rule. Its dominated the MP3 player market for ages now. I wonder how many years it has left to captivate the market.
The Kessel run is in fact around extremely dangerous things. It is near the "Maw", a black hole complex, full of hundreds of black holes. In one perticuler book, he sets it. He is racing his friend, who performs a hyperjump, and damages his ship. Han jumps in closer than ever rescues his friend. He thus sets the record for the kessel run, going the shortest distance and closest to the Maw.

I am being the troll, enjoy your day.

I think your wrong. Hopefully by 2038, our computers should be capable of running Longhorn.
As I read this, I find myself comforting my computer and peripherals that I won't let this happen to them. That is truly sad...
It seems like the majority of the time someone is haivng a problem, and I try to solve it, the problem is just gone. Anyone else have this happen?
Generally competition helps the costumers, yet here it is, damaging a very good car
Did you know?
EVERY TIME A LOAF OF BREAD IS BAKED,
APPROXIMATELY
150,000,000 YEASTS ARE
KILLED
Come to the award-winning 1987 film,
"The Very Small and Quiet Screams"
-- a cinematic electromicrograph of yeasts being baked.
A must for those who care about yeast, and especially for those who don't.

I hope that by the 2006 Longhorn release, either most game companies also release their games for Linux, cause Wine is in for a really hard time.

I want a scramjet powered heatsink to OC my CPU (ok, it make it hotter, but anyway...)

Warning! Shocksite (stupid trolls)... *sigh*
MOD PARENT DOWN! Shock Site Refrenced!
I've always had ideas and then lacked the mechinical ability to construct them. I can finally build tons of junk. If only it were free...
