Actually the idea is that you CAN identify the domain the mail came from. The example you mentioned, gmail: If an email comes from somewhere that claims to be @gmail.com and does not have the domain key header, then it's not from gmail, as all gmail mail has that header. If it tries to add a fake domain key header, it's checked and rejected as fake. As far as i can tell the key doesn't differ from person to person so you can't tell a john@gmail.com from a jeff@gmail.com, but i could be wrong on that point.
Now we might actually see something come out for this engine that has a little replayability... unlikely though i think, ut2k4 had prizes for mods, yet no-one produced anything that actually created a community... The big question is: is it actually possible that another mod will come out on the scale of counter-strike?
Erm, your a bit full of yourself. For starters I the origional post said 'If', not 'I think it would be a good idea if'. It's purely a hypothetical (if wierd) question. Also, i wouldn't think it would be _that_ far fetched that ms would spend some dollars to put research into moving windows away from x86, since they're going to be releasing their own computer systems in the future, even if it's unlikely they will release a fully fledged os that runs on non-x86 hardware.
Dude, they just get a bunch of legit keys and try to figure out the pattern to generate new keys, this reduces the tries against WON to more like a couple hundred or less depending on how many legit keys they can get a hold of to start with. Couple this with have thousands of people running the keygen and i'd say you'd get quite a few legit keys being commandeered in this way.
That's crap, why should 1 persons vote count for less just because of where they choose to live. You wouldn't say it was fair to discriminate based on race, gender or religious beliefs, why is location different?
I've washed my usb drive twice, it still seems to be coping. Though you do have a point, it would want to be quite rugged.

Hrg, all you need is a decent 3rd party software firewall, a different browser to ie and a little common sense to completly avoid all spyware, viruses etc. What's that, like 6 megs of downloads? Admittedly you'll have to get the firewall from another already protected computer, but it's really not that hard to keep a windows box secure.
I hate it when people do this.
Person 1: I have a problem, i can't do X.
Person 2: You're dumb. Who needs X?
Everyone knows floppy drives are crap, but how exactly does that help anyone?
afaik both tight and ultra vnc disallow loopback connecctions by default

.Net was created solely to solve a perceived lack of bloat in windows applications when compared to the os

Excuse me for being pedantic, but it's moot, not mute. Thank you for your time.
Seems fair, doom 3's multiplayer is about as crappy as it gets
heh, if they hate oss so much, what the hell is open office?
Heh, maybe because one was trying to do good, and the other just wanted a chance to blow shit up?

Or, since i doubt they'll be blocking firefox et al users from their system, just download the patches without using auto-update
I was going to mod you down, but then i figured you must be being sarcastic. At least i hope so.

Who cares, people kill billions of flies every day. Why not get some return on it?
Actually, i believe mosquitos are attracted to carbon dioxide.
Heh, that's quite bushian. Drugs are bad so make sure to go to church and believe in the good old U.S of A
I think the point is, if you were on like 300k a year, why would you build it yourself?
Huh? I've been using it for months and it hasn't reached out and given me nipple cripples till i cough up some dough!
Why would you want to use java? .Net is NEW! it's got MS on it! If you go by memory footprint it's way bigger and therefore better!

It's not that hard to time jump in first person, it's just practice.
People who think consoles are too cheap? those who want to crank down ther resolution on their computer?
heh, gta is the biggest cpu hog in history. I'm guessing that if you can play that you'll probably be able to play doom3
