Remember this is the company that released routers and switches running Cisco's IOS. They didn't even bother to remove the the word Cisco from the code.
While they are at it, sue the car manufacturer for creating a car that exceeds the speed limit, sue the state for issuing a drivers license to an irresponsible person, sue the phone manufacturer for allowing a distraction, sue every movie studio for making a movie with a car chase or race, sue nascar, sue.........
I personally hate the trend of browser GUIs. They are always sluggish and frustrating. If I can't have an installed application I'd rather have a CLI.
An added bonus to the CLI is that it keeps out the TechTards and we all make more money!
When I was a kid I caught some perch and put them in a 5 gallon bucket of water in the back yard. The night came a hard freeze. The water froze completely. A few days later it thawed and 2 of the perch were swimming around.
This past weekend I went to a record store in downtown Paris, Texas. They had 3 fully functioning Magnavox Odysseys for sale. They also had a Ti99 4A which was very interesting to me as it was my very first computer.
You missed the point of Shakespeare being taught in High School. The difficulty of reading Shakespeare is the point. By the time you reach High School you should already be a pretty proficient reader, but few have learned the skills necessary to trudge through something more difficult to read and gain anything useful from it. This is a very useful skill later in life. Ever read a tech manual?
As interesting as this is I dread the assumptions that some will make of this. If Tetris can alter the brain then many will argue that violent video games also alter the brain, spurring their side of the debate. I would think that playing FPS games would alter the brain in a way that would make someone better at tasks that require quick reaction to visual stimuli.
IANAB, but could this be a possible explanation of the Cambrian explosion? This protein group evolved some 580 million years ago leading to an explosion in complex organisms? Just a thought, what do you think?
I agree that 500x more light being absorbed sounds high. But you must take into account that he claims to be able to also use light from the spectrum that isn't visible.
I do not see this trend ever stopping. Millions of DVDs are purchased that have intrusive ads that play before the movie. Some that can't even be bypassed. It may irk a percentage of the consumers(I'm one of them), but if you want the movie(legally) you just have to deal with it.
I subscribe to Asimov's, Analog:Science Fiction and Fact, and Fantasy & Science Fiction. All three have consistently high quality fiction. They can usually be found at your local bookstore in the magazine section. Look closely they are smaller that the magazines. All of them also have web portals with samples of their writing. Take a look, there's some fantastic fiction waiting for you.
I agree that Voltron probably wont be as successful as Transformers, but I assume you're a generation to young for Voltron. I watched Voltron when I was a kid and really enjoyed it. When Tranformers came out I was in my late teens and never paid any attention to it. I knew about it, but wasn't watching cartoons by then. I imagine there are quite a few middle aged men who remember Voltron quite well.
My 2 cents.
I was typing dvorak for years before I purchased a dvorak keyboard. It is better when you type not to look at the keyboard anyway. Just change the layout in your OS, then print out a keyboard layout and tape it to you monitor for the three day learning period. After that, you will know where the keys are by touch and the actual keyboard doesn't matter.
Agreed, please don't move to Austin. We have enough traffic here.

Driving While Blind is never a good idea.
It was actually "Fat Angus" but for the love of God don't forget the g when googling!

I don't expect you RTFA but atleast finish the blurb before complaining.
How can this possibly be modded off topic?

Yes but if I attached a cell phone with GPS tracking to your car I can cut the brakes at just the right time. Muhahaha!
If the crackers didn't distribute it how did RockStar get it.

Please don't say I can no longer justify my Sudoku addiction!

Imagine a Beowulf cluster of these....

Hmm. P=NP N=1 Solved. May I have a cookie?
Yes, Card does have some experience. He is a playwrite as well as a novelist.
