    When's the last time an old person created something? They're like vultures and rats. They just consume limited resources... food, health care, social security, etc. Everyone should be forced by society to commit ritiualistic suicide at age 60.

    Well, they figure if you don't want Viagra then you may be interested in their other products such as v14gr4 or V.!agri.a or ^i4.r4. Don't forget Cialias or C14l1$ or !4l1s soft tabs. My spam consists of someone advertising their porn webcam, shady pharmaceutical sales pitches, mortgages, and premium replica Rolex watches. They must think I have nothing better to do than buy a house and sit around taking viagara while jerking off to some slut's webcam and using my replica watch to alert me to when I should get up to get food.

    I'm sure that by the time longhorn releases there will be a large number of sub $100 (actually there are now I believe) video cards that support this technology.

    Except those integrated Dell units don't have an AGP slot so I guess you throw them away.

    Even with 9.4GB DVDs, that is 50 disks for me...

    You have 500GB of essential data to backup at home? Are you into video or something? Anyway, if you check out their web site it says it works with almost anything so get two 250GB USB hard drives and have at it.

    Still, the mini looks cool, I hope to buy one (used in the far future from ebay for hopefully about $20). 300MHz G3 B&W Powermacs are still going for $150-$200 and they're ancient. Expect to wait around 10-15 years for your $20 Mac Mini. Macs seem to hold their value really well so I don't feel bad about spending extra on it. My PC on the other hand is obsolete and loses 90% of it's value the first 6 months.

    Uhhh, that would be like feeling bad about buying a new 2.8GHz P4 when Dell just released a new like of PIII-1.4Ghz desktops. The iMac is a much better machine.

    People still have ps/2 keyboards and mice ???? Let me guess, you would hook up your 10 year-old 14" SVGA monitor to it ?

    Why is this suprising to you? My PS/2 keyboard has the tactile feel I like and my Logitech PS/2 Marble trackball is absolutely irreplaceable. I've yet to find a three button USB trackball on the market that doesn't have a god damn scrollwheel.

    They released an update to NT years ago. Right around 2000.

    Does this mean I should start planning my migration to Active Directory? I guess they're pretty serious that this is the direction they're going. I figured they would see the light and go back to NT-style domains after a few years.

    But you then have to RUN it from IE :) So you can download it anyway you like. But the end result is your butt in IE.

    But using IE is how you get infected with those trojans in the first place. How terribly ironic.

    I should add that it's possible to have it play songs in a pre-set order, which you would define from within iTunes. You would just need to memorize the order.

    That's pretty lame though. How hard is it to add in a cheap $5 LCD display like you find on other MP3 players that size?

    I have to wonder about that. I can't pick up my access point more than 20 feet from my house with my laptop... where are you guys living that you're vulnerable to war drivers? They'd practically have to park on my front lawn to reach mine (it has WEP turned on though). I guess you could use a high gain antenna, but who would go to all that trouble to get access to some guy's access point when you can just get your own DSL?

    Don't forget the local root exploit in the Linux kernel. That's a big sign of the apocalypse. Still no released patch kernel though for 2.4.x series though... odd. I guess they expect us to run a release candidate on production servers to fix this bug.

    Is SMS more standard in that part of the world? Here in the US I don't even think you can send an SMS message from most cell network providers. Seems like having a warning system with a loud siren (similar to areas in the midwest where we have tornado warning sirens) in coastal areas would make more sense. You could even have it be triggered remotely from monitoring locations.

    No thanks, I'll stick with my $99.95/month 6Mbps/768Kbps ADSL from Speakeasy with 4 static IP addresses, Fileshack subscription, and an AUP that encourages running whatever servers you want to. The cheapest service is usually never the best.

    I just ordered a dual 6600GT setup from Newegg and here this thing is about to be released.

    Some people just have far too much disposable income IMHO. WTF do you need a dual 6600GT video card setup for anyway? The most demanding games out there (Doom 3 and Half-Life 2) work just fine with a "lowly" GeForce FX 5600. Sheesh.

    Someone above already posted a way for you to know which charities are careful with your money. You are just trying to justify hoarding your money.

    Since when is "hoarding your money" a crime? He earned it, he can keep it or give it away in any way he pleases. Some people are going to starve to death and some people are going to be filthy rich, it's just how capitalism works, but it's the best system we've got. The majority of the middle people live relatively decent lives.

    Select taxpayers under a certain income, or with a student or military status, can use the TurboTax Web edition for free, with a free e-file for their federal return and (if their state participates in the program) one free state tax return.

    For the rest of us we're stuck either buying software or trudging along manually (or paying someone else to do it). If the IRS insists on making the tax code so complicated they should provide FREE software and free electronic filing to *all* taxpayers. I know Intuit and others will have a hissy-fit about their profits taking a hit, but too fucking bad. I shouldn't have to spend around $50 a year to buy a piece of software just to file my taxes.

    Yes, of course it's the Internet. I can think of no technology that has altered the way we research, interact, and communicate than the Internet. It definitely has only gained widespread use since the 1990s. That is #1.

    Naw, it's the Sony Walkman. All the portable tape players, CD players, and MP3 players that followed owe it all to the walkman. Granted, it probably wasn't the FIRST portable tape player, but it certainly was one of the most popular.
