Exactly. Who paid for this study? It wouldn't surprise me if the U.S. Government wanted to know the stats and gave the contract to Accenture. 20 million dollars over budget and 2 years after the deadline this is what they produced
You still use floppy discs? I'm jealous. All of my files that I need to transport are well over 1.44 MB. It must be nice not having to deal with large files.
True that. Micro Center took over the CompUSA space in Rockville. Thank God. I really hated CompUSA with a passion. You couldn't buy anything on sale in there without a mail in rebate. And the people who work in those stores seemed to be rejects from Best Buy. The best thing I like about Micro Center is that they have a whole Think Geek Aisle.
"There is a real breadth of properties now appealing to a much broader audience than we've seen before. Honestly, we are having to retool the way we think of things in our stores in terms of merchandising, layout and also customer service because it is no longer only the hardcore gamer walking in who knows exactly what he wants."
That's funny. Whenever I go into gamestop or EBX, I tend to stay away from customer service. I swear, they hire the most inept people who don't have a clue about games.
Me: I really like games like Katamri, WC3, and Rez
Gamestop Employee: Then let me recommend Madden 08
Me: I'm not big into sports games.
Gamestop Employee: Then you should buy the new ww2 first person shooter game that just came out!
Me: errr, I think I'll just look around, thanks.
I am the same way to a certain point. However, I've been more interested in downloading the classic games and that is where I spend 90% of my Wii time. I had the same attitude with my DS when it first came out. I played it for about a month or two and then it sat on my desk collecting dust. Then games like Meteos, Kirby, and Castlevania came out and I started playing again. The Wii has the problem right now where there are no new good games. Give it till the end of the summer when metroid comes out.
You guys are so fucked. Don't worry though, the U.S. is just one step behind the UK. Maybe we could do cross Atlantic revolution together? Won't that be fun?
I remember they had some pretty decent games. When I got my PS2 right after launch I bought SSX. I didn't even like snow boarding games until I played that.
about 3 years ago I interviewed with a fly by night Government contracting company. They showed me the server room which was in the kitchen (the kitchen sink was like 10 feet away from rack full of servers). I wanted to ask the guy what was their emergency backup plan if somebody spilled coffee the router. I bite my tongue instead thinking I didn't want to sound like an ass. Looking back on it I should have said something because the job I interviewed for wasn't that interesting anyways.
I've probably owned about 30-40 games for my ps2 over the last 5-6 years. Although it probably is possible for them to reach that number, how long does it take the average joe to buy 30 games? Also, at least half of my library I got used because most games, to me, aren't worth $50 bucks each. This is money that Sony can't recoup and that goes directly to Gamestop/EbGames/Game Crazy's profit margin.
I just made an account and the website definitly needs some more work. I'll probably come back to this after it comes out of beta. The form registartion is confusing to say the least. It clears out all form data if you submit it without filling a required field. There is no confirmation page for registering. When I went in a setup my "fantasy team", my team, 50% of the time didn't show up on screen. I tried to join a league but my team name, once I got it setup never showed up. Great concept for a website but it still needs work
Was in there for something else, and just happened to ask at the checkout.
You mean you were there for the standard $17.99 inflated priced music cd? You should try shopping online or at discount stores.
4D?!! If my calculations are correct, that is 1 more D over xbox360 and Nintendo. There is no way Sony is going to screw up now.
MS PR: We got real time lightening effects in huge 3D worlds
Sony PR: We can manipulate Space and Time with our boomerang controller.
Yes, let's spend billions of dollars on some of the most complex, advanced engineering known to man and then put our finished product in FLORIDA! The place where they have at least 5 hurricanes per seasons and unpredicatable weather year round. Wouldn't it have been smarter to put Cape Canaveral somewhere like New Mexico or Nevada?
I don't get it? I was in a Sony Store the other day and they had a demo of a Blu-Ray movie playing. Yes, it looks nice. Yes, it looks like my HD-Comcast Cable. But I don't care! Right now I am totally satisfied playing my progressive scan DVDs. Yes there is a major difference in picture quality between Blu-Ray and DVD but it still hasn't made me want to go out and buy it. With that said, I could care less that Sony will be making games on Blu-Ray disc. I'd rather play my Nintendo DS or WarCraft 3 then to shell out $640 on new hardware so that I can enjoy $59.99 games.

Emo kids can't afford Apple products.
You just described Accenture's business model

Federal Plaza shopping center to be exact.

Larry Probst tell Nintendo to go to hell and that they are only going to support the Commodore 64 platform.

It would be worth it if I didn't get sloppy seconds or Sloppy 845th.

Where did you read that? I thought they were going to be inline with xbox360 prices.

that is the gheyest thing I've ever heard. Paying a kid $25 to get good at Halo is pathetic to say the least.
