There was a Star Wars novel about some of the characters in the cantina and Greedo's backstory was among them. He's not really an experienced bounty hunter. Rather, he's a n00b with a gun and doesn't have a clue at all about the business of bounty hunting.
I remember reading somewhere way back, about a year before ep2 came out that Lucas said somthing to the effect of ".. and you will see why Yoda is the Jedi master.". The first thought that came to my mind was "oh shit... he's gonna have Yoda bounce around like some sort of hyperactive superball".
Sadly my fears were proven correct. That whole fight is a total farce. Nowhere before did Yoda move in any sort of rapid manner, its been established that he's a slow moving little guy. To have him suddenly break out the kung-fu (ugh those stances he assumed were cheesy) and fly around screaming was so utterly ridiculous both me and my brother burst out laughing when we saw it in the theater.
He absolutely should have moved like the parent suggested. I would have gone so far as to have him beat down Saruman unarmed using a fighting style something like Akido.
Well, the Energiacould probably do the job lifting it into orbit around earth. However it would still be difficult to get that thing to Mars, and then safely drop it onto the surface.
Sweet merciful crap. What is nerdier than writing your own operating system?! I mean honestly, if Lego can make the frontpage then this guy's work most assuredly should be there too.
Wiggum: Now, what I am about to show you next may shock and educate you. Hold onto your values as we step through the looking glass into a hippie pot party.

While Johnny Welfare plays acid rock on a stolen guitar, his old lady has a better idea.
[lights up another mannequin, of a woman opening wide to eat a baby sandwich. (That's a sandwich with a baby in it, not a really tiny sandwich.) The crowd gasps]
That's right, she's got the munchies for a California Cheeseburger.
I'd have to say the putz that thought s3 was capable of making a decent chipset was the disabled one.
Actually, is the article even remotely correct on this? Via makes chipsets, s3 makes gpus... not the other way around, or am I just astonishingly ignorant?
Maybe, but I'm getting my broadband via cable, and these clowns believe in a per device charge. Once a company finds a revenue stream it seldom gives it up.
Another issue would be broadband providers demanding you pay extra money per machine. Currently my provider expects me to pay an additional $10 or so for additional ip addresses. Whatever. Dug up my old 486 and it's happily acting as a nat box now, with 5 machines behind it.
the terms "boomboxes" and ghetto blasters" were started during this period to describe the "noise" that emanated from portable stereo cassette recorders, though the sound quality on some rivalled that of home stereo systems.
Hmm, I thought it was to deter Pakistan (who's also got nukes). Or is it the other way around... In any case, those two both have nukes and don't particularly like eachother.
I'd love to see Pixar put out something a bit darker, with a bit more complex character development and a bit less "free toy with your Happy Meal purchase" oriented...
So would I, but unfortunately cg animation is being treated the same as traditional animation in North America. Ie, cartoons are for kids, which is most unfortunate. The mediocrity of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within didn't help much either.
There have been some darker features made in other countries. Kaena and Wonderful Days (although technically Wonderful Days is more Anime than cg) are the only two I can think of at the moment. Both France and Korea have a more receptive audience for "serious" cartoons, somthing that North America seems to lack. That being said, perhaps the market for such things will open up.
Has Don Bluth done ANYTHING that actually made someone money? Every film I've heard of him involved in seems to have disappeared onto the scrapheap of financial and critical mediocrity.
Well, let's see, shall we? Err... he got about 15 bucks in quarters out of my pocket back in the summer of 1984 with Space Ace, does that count?
Say for instance I have a Metallica mp3 being shared out. What's to stop the RIAA from just downloading said mp3 and then using netstat to see who is sending them pieces of it? After that they could try to sue everyone who's providing even a small part of the whole mp3, couldn't they?
Hara Kiri is just the "vulgar" term for Seppuku. Literally translated, hara belly + kiri cutting. Here's a howto guide on how to commit seppuku with a frisbee.
Oh indeed, Paris Hilton can attest to this...
Choose two.
The disruption of critical services by this crappy technology is a most un-good thing.

Easy there, Yoda. The young padawan's head just exploded!
Never underestimate the determination of drunken idiots.

Weight is the enemy. All that stuff sounds like it would be a good idea, but it would weigh a lot more, and therefore cost a lot more.
So that's what a beowulf cluster of /.ers is!

Yeah... I like babies.... mmmm baby sandwiches...
And the State Penn is where students will go if they decide to use Napster's free "competitors".

Remember, if you have enough money anything is perfectly legal.
Ausgezeichnet! Alle hageln das RIAA!

I volunteer to be that brave soul who peels off those thingies! However, I will need a ride there, and a place to stay.
