Both my Blackberry and my Sony Ericsson sometimes decide not to connect a call when I have close to full signal. Judging from TFA this could then be because of high noise ratio.
At the same time, I have always wondered why my phones do not give me any indication why the calls were not connected at the time. They both just return to the main screen after a long period of connection attempts.
[...] a historian reminded the commission that the skull and crossbones symbolised resurrection for the alchemists, and a psychologist conducted an experiment with three-year-olds: if the symbol was affixed to a bottle they anxiously shouted "poison!", but if it was placed on a wall they enthusiastically yelled "pirates!".

You dont need Admin rights with TCexplorer
Ideal for USB key
I think you hit the nail on the head with your link to TCexplorer. Just what I was looking for indeed:
"A portable software to import, export, delete, rename, view, edit and execute files in TrueCrypt containers without requiring administrative privileges."
Would be even better if a similar tool was integrated into Truecrypt natively, but until that happens I will try this tool.
I work as a consultant and often use Truecrypt on my USB key in traveller mode on sites where I work. The top thing on my wishlist is to be able to run/install Truecrypt on a Windows machine without admin rights.
[..] In Windows, a user who does not have administrator privileges can use TrueCrypt, but only after a system administrator installs TrueCrypt on the system. [...]
Activision says it doesn't want or need a license under the patent.
I like that phrase. You would have thought that whether they want one or not is fairly irrelevant. Have you ever seen a case where a company wanted a license under a patent, but didn't need one?:-)
Too bad the article doesn't tell us what the purportedly clueless interviewer *did* ask.
TFA is a waste of time.
Sensational headline - "Facebook founder heckled at web conference", yet providing no proof for this, nor any proof on why the interviewer was clueless.
A couple of bland quotes from Zuckerberg on the Yahoo bid and privacy issues. Good enough for a/. first page?
The officer also testified the defendant flatulated in his face when the authorities were snapping nude photos of him Sept. 28, 2006. The officer said Reiser told him: "'You're about to experience chaos' and, for lack of a better term, he farted in my face."
Jurors snickered and the defendant grinned.
"Did you make a report of that?" DuBois asked the officer.

Hi, I'm Italian and I would like to know if there is a bank account to send the money.
Thank you. Dear Friend,
I am the manager of bill and exchange at the foreign remittance
department BANK OF AFRICA .
In my department we discovered an abandoned bank account you can use for your purpose. We won't charge you anything - in fact we will double your donations.
You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this letter
for further clearifications.
"If there is only one attachment that is a.jpg or.gif and I've never had contact with the sender before, delete it." Unfortunately you will find that quite often the promotion text spans over several pictures.
Spam is really a non-issue for most end users [...] virtually guarantees that no unsolicited commercial email will get through. Are you speaking for the majority of end users or are you just trolling? I don't know any end users who don't see spam as an end user issue.
The picture spam not caught by the gmail spam filters that I receive all look very very similar. Randomly generated sentences with buzz words and a "picture text" haussing a certain stock.
I'm very surprised these all come through the gmail spam filter. By now it should be easy to identify them.

What typos are you talking about, you mad parent?

Flexplay® discs are fully recyclable
To add to your point, just because something is recyclable does not mean there are no energy costs to recycle.
How many people here have in the last couple of years actually tried to type on a Model M?
I will tell you from recent experience that typing on one of these old beasts will slow you down immensly.
In this group-think-world the reponsiveness of the Model M sounds great; but in reality, it fails miserably.
Please, stop the Model M fanboism.

Ahh the nostalgia... TAC-2 was THE joystick.

It's called water. If this works, this will be coca-cola's greated scam.
If it is, it's not the first time Coca Cola tries to pull the water scam.
I'm just waiting for drag-and-drop tabs so I can reorder my tab order.
You don't need to wait any longer - it's already there.
This new version includes the latest Gnome 2.16 and KDE 3.5.4, as well as a 3D desktop with both AIGLX and Xgl technologies.
With Mandriva it's probably easier to list what it doesn't include.
