    Both my Blackberry and my Sony Ericsson sometimes decide not to connect a call when I have close to full signal. Judging from TFA this could then be because of high noise ratio.

    At the same time, I have always wondered why my phones do not give me any indication why the calls were not connected at the time. They both just return to the main screen after a long period of connection attempts.

    Well, Kapersky labs tells us that the MP3 files are in fact turned into WMA format and not ASF format:

    The worm, which was named Worm.Win32.GetCodec.a, converts mp3 files to the Windows Media Audio (WMA) format (without changing the .mp3 extension)

    You dont need Admin rights with TCexplorer Ideal for USB key

    I think you hit the nail on the head with your link to TCexplorer. Just what I was looking for indeed:

    "A portable software to import, export, delete, rename, view, edit and execute files in TrueCrypt containers without requiring administrative privileges."

    Would be even better if a similar tool was integrated into Truecrypt natively, but until that happens I will try this tool.

    I work as a consultant and often use Truecrypt on my USB key in traveller mode on sites where I work. The top thing on my wishlist is to be able to run/install Truecrypt on a Windows machine without admin rights.

    The issue is described in full here:

    [..] In Windows, a user who does not have administrator privileges can use TrueCrypt, but only after a system administrator installs TrueCrypt on the system. [...]

    How many people here have in the last couple of years actually tried to type on a Model M?

    I will tell you from recent experience that typing on one of these old beasts will slow you down immensly.

    In this group-think-world the reponsiveness of the Model M sounds great; but in reality, it fails miserably.

    Please, stop the Model M fanboism.

    I like that phrase. You would have thought that whether they want one or not is fairly irrelevant. Have you ever seen a case where a company wanted a license under a patent, but didn't need one? :-)

    Sensational headline - "Facebook founder heckled at web conference", yet providing no proof for this, nor any proof on why the interviewer was clueless.

    A couple of bland quotes from Zuckerberg on the Yahoo bid and privacy issues. Good enough for a /. first page?

    I second that. As a "hobbiest-contributor" myself I have written or expanded around 10 specialist articles. There is not a lot more specialist knowledge I feel that I have to contribute to Wikipedia - hence I've not added anything in the last 6 months or so.

    "If there is only one attachment that is a .jpg or .gif and I've never had contact with the sender before, delete it." Unfortunately you will find that quite often the promotion text spans over several pictures.

    Spam is really a non-issue for most end users [...] virtually guarantees that no unsolicited commercial email will get through. Are you speaking for the majority of end users or are you just trolling? I don't know any end users who don't see spam as an end user issue.

    The picture spam not caught by the gmail spam filters that I receive all look very very similar. Randomly generated sentences with buzz words and a "picture text" haussing a certain stock.

    I'm very surprised these all come through the gmail spam filter. By now it should be easy to identify them.
