Didn't see it in the articles but the press release from OD2 specifies that the music will be in the Windows Media Player 9 format. Well, that sure makes me uninterested in this service.
If I understood the article correctly he mostly bought and sold stuff with a profit margin so he did not have to spend countless hours generating the loot himself. I'm guessing buying from a well known and well stocked trader is safer and easier and means he can take a higher price. Also the article talks about buying high-level accounts and selling it in parts to generate a profit.
This is not a new idea.
It has already been implemented in the MMORPG Project Entropia.
It allows players to insert and withdraw real money that is converted to the in-game currency. Project Entropia is not a very good game in my opinion, but the concept is interesting.
A similar thing happened in 1999-2001. When, among other things, 50,000 Nike shoes drifted around the globe. This National Geographic's article discusses this incident and goes into more detail on the whole phenomena of drifting cargo.
Here is an interview that GameSpot made with Bill Roper about leaving Blizzard.
Basically he says they made the decision to leave as a result of very recent events. If I understand it correctly it has to do with them not having enough influence over the direction of the company. The group have not decided exactly what they want to do, but want to continue working together in a new company. They are not bound by any non-comptetion agreements or similar.

"Freedom of speech is regarded by European governments as an important component of civil government, but they don't worship at it's throne like US Citizens regard the First Amendment."
The irony about this statement is that in the background discussion part of the law proposal it is specifically said that even though circumvention devices are outlawed in this law there is no way the swedish constitution will allow for the outlawing of texts or discussions about such devices or methods.
So the swedish freedom of speech is actually stronger then US first amendment in this case!
If you read the actual text of the law it states that it is illegal to publish and download material without the consent of the owner. If the material is published by the owner you are allowed to download it.
The law may sound stupid when paraphrased, but actually alot of it makes sense when you read the whole text. The only thing that I have a problem with in the law is that i can't do whatever I want with what is basically a large number in the privacy of my own hard drive. That is I can't crack a copy protection even on bought data that I own.
You are wrong.
The law specifiec that it is only illegal to circumvent encryption in order to access copyrighted material illegally. If Bob only has legally obtained data on his machine you would not be breaking any laws.
IANAL, but I don't see how making a copy for personal amusement would be a violation of copyright. If they start distributing and/or selling it though that's another story...
3D festival is not really geared towards the scientific part of 3D graphics. Look atSIGGRAPH (and numerous other conferences) to take care of that part.
...Electronic Arts chose to support their own servers and ditch Microsoft.
Actually EA has choosen to not support online gaming at all on the XBox. Probably they are holding out to see how well XBox Live goes and be able to negotiate a good deal with MS.
Pretty much the same thing they did when the XBox was first launched. It took a long time before EA came onboard and I'm guessing that it was all a part of the negotiating process and that they got a sweet deal from MS since MS stood to loose more than EA without EA's games on the XBox.

Unmanned spydrones like the Predator perhaps?

Here is a link to Yoshi's Submersion Cooling Case. They used hydrofluoroether (HFE) from 3M.

I guess they forgot to check for prior art... :)

3D? We don't need no stinking 3D!!
Hey, give the guy some credit.
Atleast he read the first page of the article, which is one page more then 99% of slashdot posters. =)
