Getting more people in on the content side will likely flesh out the storyline and make for some more interesting gameplay.
Sides talented engineers should be kept working on new engines, SC:G was planned back in the days of DX 8.1 so it'll be good to get these guys working on something new, which will hopefully be a contender with the big three.
I bought an Xbox because I knew the ps3 would be backwards compatible so why bother getting a ps2?
Also the Xbox had all the media functionality I wanted (except video in bastards) so I didn't really care about the games, but heck when in rome with a big HD:)
Web sites have found a way to maintain a size that might still be possible on older machines and handhelds instead of trying to race for huge pages, if you want everyone to expand their images remember that advertising will keep step. Dialup is still the norm, (Sigh friggin thailand Dial-up) let sleeping dogs lie on this one.
Final note 800x600 is nice for vmware which is good for us browser people.
God sound cards should cost no more than $20 there is sufficient power in the mobo now to run any system.
I run Logitech Z540 from my Asus A7n8x Deluxe (Soundstorm) and it sounds fantastic.
I got surround sound for my movies, doesn't matter much since they are mostly encoded in XviD (DivX sucks dude:)).
People who buy an audigy 2 are wasting money and it's pretty sick. Put a little money in on some decent speakers and keep the rest for upgrades and popcorn, you don't need 256 channels, and half a frame in games.
Sides if you really like a game you'll probably start to get sick of the soundtrack and listen to music, hell it happened to me half way through GTA3 and that supposedly had the most entertaining sountrack in recent memory.
I remember when Hyperthreading came out there were serious performance problems in many apps. This lead many reviews and I must assume educated consumers to disable this feature.
Other than tollerance for spyware does this have any real advantages?
Didn't we hear some rumblings on this count from AMD? When does their roadmap state this stuff'll be ready to go?
Didn't read through the low level posts but I think most people are missing the point.
Unsecured home networks aren't really that much more likely to get viruses.
Sure there will be a couple nasty "replace the IE executable" virii that will run around.
But the real point is that right now if a virus hits the fan they can do a traceback to the original I.P. and find the source. Now in most cases a smart hacker would use a virtual machine well protected or an internet cafe but they still could catch the majority of hackers by tracing net traffic to a physical location and maybe going in looking for a description.
Now there is nothing stopping people from releasing or doing anything they want on the net because they are masked by physical and electronic annonymitiy.
Which is what the net is supposed to be about anyway, spreading thought without the possibility of reprecussion.
On the Pro side, with faster and faster internet inevitably making it's way into the marketplace no one uses all their bandwidth (Not even me and I BT). This sharing is great because it means we might finally start to have the internet penetration we were supposed to have years ago, free phone connections from anywhere with just a wifi phone, review's available whenever you make a purchase, perfect e-mail penetration.
On my travels through asia I have had a chance to try many of the Ramen of diffrent Asian countries. So far China has made an Excellent showing as has Japan.
Unfortunatly some Japanese ramen tends towards the $3 soup that eats like a meal mark which is so much crap.
It's important that ramen coniseurs get their hands on some Shin-Ramen comming out of Korea as it is definitly a staple.
You aren't asked to know about colour co-ordination all you are asked to do is figure out what a suit means and choose a tie for a simple purpose but geeks neglect this simple thing. Sad really.
Look at a peacock and think about how much worse things could have gone for you, now spend twenty minutes looking at ties and analysing your emotions, you're done for life andif you know what you are doing you just gained a little power.
This whole thing is in fact ridiculous, moore doubtless has technical people who might have mentioned this whole internet thing and the consequences of genie bottle non reversibility.
The fact that he hasn't released the movie is proof positive he's a profiteering punk ass.
I enjoy his documentaries but he's really a lightweight, Errol Morris is where the action is. Check out "Fog of War" for details.
Even though I feel CNN is slanted to the left
You feel what?
Jesus H. Christ! How far to the extreme deep right are you exactly?
Calm yourself, American's think CNN is left wing, far left wing. Most actual left wing thinking is so far out of their realm of experience that they cannot help but think of it as insanity.
Just about everything you take as a given has never been explored by these people.
Give them some time and they may say, hey Iraqies don't want us there, so um why are we there?
to get fanatical about.
I wonder if Slashdot is the core of a Jihad?

Clearly everyone else is stupid.
Why didn't you mention this sooner!

Apparently Seoul Korea is right on the backbone. My travelling companion has something called VDSL at home.
She claims 700 mb in about 12 minutes is normal.
Sigh and all for about $42 canadian.
Pc games are a steal at free. As are console games. Sigh...

This used to be true but my grandmother somehow found out about suprnova.org
My little sister somehow learned how to pirate.
My mom has an extensive collection of mp3's.
The word is on the street.

Having been to China, I find that many of the internet sites which are supposedly banned actually work just fine. (BBC Google etc.)
Google is redirected to a chinese google but google.ca (top 15 sites in the world) works just fine.
So either their censorship isn't working or we are getting flummoxed.
Css shirts are great conversation starters.
:(
If you can't get a chick in one I guess you will never get one
Yea but how many people use 1337? o_0?
Where is my $2 2 gig HD I ask? My poor Granny is suffering without a computer cuz they don't come cheaper than $50.
I know it's not really a matter of complexity but it really feels like someone is screwing the pooch on this one.

There might be some interesting stuff in the next service pack actually.
We'll see how ccumbersome it is but it sounds like it'll decrease security concerns.
Well since pirating music is legal in Canada it's really not that much better of a deal.
Remember them, just another thing japanese business men will have on their keychain in a few years.
You heard me!
I want an mp3 codec included! I want some P2P software included!
I want a pirated copy of office included.
Where's my fat32 where's my NTFS!
Bring me the head of Bill Gates!
Take the bible set it up as a loop between them. Create the worlds best game of broken telephone.
I don't understand why we are even debating this.
I suppose if you blasted 900$ on a CPU it might matter if it died but it's silly otherwise.
You can get comparable performace for $200 and a those prices the chance of a cpu failing are simply a non issue.
Couple that with the fact that all CPU's are tested before shipping, not crappy testing like Mobo's or HD but quality testing.
And the chances of damaging a CPU are infintessimal it simply doesn't matter anymore.
Also cpu's are completely interchangeable. If one dies you lose 2 hours while you go buy a new one (A better one).
Performance based on the performance of thunderbird running at those speeds.
And since a thunderbird running at the same clock as a p4 northwood would have about equal perormance that's how it works out.
Yes you still need benchmarks (The HORROR!) but since CPU's are only the bottleneck in a few programs I don't even really care anymore.
Ah Geek fashion so important.
