  2. Not limiting their imagination on Two Blanks Against the Trend · · Score: 2, Insightful

On /. I hear a lot about fair use and what that implies. This system allows you to do things that a straight 2nd copy wouldn't. So, if you want to scramble the order of the tracks, or maybe do a mix of your own karaoke over the originals, then you can. This system allows you to own the music and do what you want with it in a new way. It's almost like the linux router that didn't release the source code. Once it had, hackers converted it to a super-router with loads of hacks to do what the owners want to.

WTF? Doom was not just a revelation in graphics, it also had some truly kick-ass gameplay. If you are bored one afternoon I also recommend that you fire up quake- it is truly one of the best single player fps games ever. All of ID's titles have had good gameplay *as well as* good graphics. They have the pick up and play factor that means that the game is not too complex. But then I have simple tastes. I want a game, not a life simulator. I want to run around and shoot lots of things, not try to find keys or levers to pull. IMHO, that's what is wrong with gaming these days, if it doesn't use all the keys on the keyboard people think the game sucks. Actually the less keys you use, the purer the game can be.

To mac lovers like myself raw processing power does not matter. It is nice that again the mac is kicking ass compared to the average PC, but that isn't too important. The thing is that the mac allows you to get your work done without crashing every 30 seconds. Macs let you work without needing to know anything about the stuff underneath, which is something that both windows and linux have been lacking. And it looks sexy too. I think that the fact that mac users find their computers sexy telling, as they love their machines, which is something that most users simply do not do.

And I suppose a talented physicist can build a nuclear reactor out of two sticks of chewing gum and a pencil? The interesting thing is that GIMP fans only ever say "GIMP is as good as Photoshop". Photoshop people say "photoshop is better than the GIMP" The one area that GIMP is claimed to be superior than photoshop is in the price. That doesn't make it better at the job, it just makes it cheaper.

Che Guevara (1928-67) Real name ERNESTO GUEVARA (1928-67), Latin American guerrilla leader and revolutionary theorist, who became a hero to the New Left radicals of the 1960s. Born into a middle-class family in Rosario, Argentina, Guevara received a medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1953. Convinced that revolution was the only remedy for Latin America's social inequities, in 1954 he went to Mexico, where he joined exiled Cuban revolutionaries under Fidel Castro. In the late 1950s, he played an important role in Castro's guerrilla war against Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista, and when Castro came to power, he served as Cuba's minister of industry (1961-65). A strong opponent of U.S. influence in the Third World, he helped guide the Castro regime on its leftward and pro-Communist path. The author of two books on guerrilla warfare, Guevara advocated peasant-based revolutionary movements in the developing countries. He disappeared from Cuba in 1965, reappearing the following year as an insurgent leader in Bolivia. He was captured by the Bolivian army and shot near Vallegrande on Oct. 9, 1967.
