  9. It runs it on many newer Chromebooks. I have a old and new Chromebook Android Apps run on. Notes of interest: having a touchscreen & accelerometer makes a big different for some apps. Also, some IT network apps do not work right because it runs all network services beyond a sandbox proxy, so if you want to scan your network for devices, then it will only find itself. My Haswell Chromebook is much slower with Android Apps running on it with battery life draining twice as fast, while my i7 Pixelbook is blazingly fast and much longer battery life. If your Chromebook is being managed by Google's MDM, then it might be blocking Android Apps outright.

Your district needs to hire more competent people and find better contractors. My town schools repair Chromebooks in house. They believe it is cheaper and faster. They, also, have a stable network for thousands of devices, know how to install print drivers properly, and more. Their problems are showing people how to use a computer or smartboard (many teachers/staff do not like to learn new things), repairing chromebooks, dealing with cyberattacks, dealing with Windows glitches, and creating new tools for people to use.

This is troubling considering, since early Nov. of this year Comcast has throttled all devices on my network when 1 of my devices is connected to a VPN. Upload and download speeds are cut in half, until I turn off my work VPN connection. Within seconds the speed for all devices in my network doubles (phones, mac's, pc's, tablets, etc).

Chromebooks are very popular with kids, older adults, etc for just working. You don't need a active connection to use Google Apps. Turn on Offline mode and you are all set. Or fire up Crouton, and run various Linux flavors side-by-side ChromeOS. Plus, some Chromebooks run Android Apps, which offers up so much more one can do on a Chromebook for the masses.
