I really like this article is designed. It generates a lot of feedback and it's really interesting as I know Google is very important company and I should read up on what they are doing to keep ahead of the curve.
Little UI gotchas like this seem to be purposeful. Diablo 3 has a nice little feature where if you're not accurate you can delete your inventory. BTW inventory in Diablo is worth real money. Oops you deleted your project? should have used OneDrive!
Why would they even do this? Has the security situation gotten to the point where their hand is being forced or do they simply want to abandon their technical debt in the same manner that any industrial operation wishes to abandon their industrial waste, into the commons?
How do you figure? Is there any information available on Netflix getting priority? My understanding is that they are able to deliver HD content thanks to their network of AWS hosts and CDN hosts.
Clearly, they're trying to get this through for the ISPs and doing as little as possible to meet the letter of the law in attempt to keep it under the radar.
The only reason Google sucks so much is that there's nothing that sucks less in the search *business*. Maybe a non-profit Search engine is the solution? Academia may be a great way to incubate such a product.
It's fucking stupid. It's rarely needed function that is rarely used. IT'S STILL NEEDED. Clearing cookies is rarely needed as well, but they're not going to remove that (yet, I'm sure they'll say something like "keep your cookies in the cloud")
I'm sure the real reasoning behind this is to pad their usage stats. Chrome users spend 25% more time on your website and spend $fake_dollars more!
I have to agree. Hobbit was awful.
Yeah I remember this and I remember Intel fucked over AMD pretty bad by breaking the deal but not bothering to tell AMD or to pay them.

If Google was really that good they wouldn't have to Bribe Apple and Mozilla to embed it into their products?

PRISM
but it's not a big deal since only blessed corporations can use it in their on-boarding process.
Still dead
Seconding this. The 640 was or is a great value smart phone. It's literally saved me hundreds in data fees in the less than year that I've had it.

Funny I was thinking we really need Google to stop being involved in web standards. Funny how our needs differ.

Now there's a /. article.

Anarcho-capitalism is working well for Russia, yes?

So Google wants UK's energy usage information? Fascinating.
