I'm in agreement with you. If broadband is really going to take off, it's far more beneficial for the phone/cable companies to upgrade their lines and do everything right.
Trying to transmit Broadband over a powerline may be kind of cool to try, but in the end it's a totally half-assed end solution.
I was the same way when I was in college. I didn't even have the web as a distraction. My record for no sleep was 54 consecutive hours.
I never got any help for it, but I think it might have been stress related. I simply couldn't shut my mind off and was stuck staying busy. I spent a lot of time in the school of music practicing, and a lot of time in the Library.
You should go to student health services. I did some reading about sleep depravation back then I found that if it happens often enough, brain damage may result.
Sooner of later, you will need to crash after all of those hours, I slept 14 hours once. Unfortunately, it was through a mid-term. Do yourself a favor and talk to someone.
Homer> "What's everyone so worked up about? So there's a comet, big deal. It'll burn up in our atmosphere and what's ever left will be no bigger than a Chihuahua's head."
I always purchased the boxed set of any distro that I was using for longer than a couple of weekends. I have purchased 3 Red Hat versions, and Slackware and Mandrake. I like having the company boxed sets because they usually included some goodies to go with it.
Broadband is only plentiful in some areas in the US. I currently get over 1.5Mbs. The new house I just purchased only has DSL available and it's 19,500 feet to the nearest CO. How fast do you think that will be?
Oh well, as long as Slackware ships boxed sets, I'll be sticking with them.
You joke but you would be amazed how many people I have interviewed that say are MCSEs and really aren't. When I see a MS certification on a resume, I ask the interviewee for their MCP certification number. (The one you get when you really DO certify) Many times the answer was "Uh, I don't know where I put it.". Sometimes the interviewee would come clean and admit they weren't certified but knew the "Windows 2000 Unleashed" book from front to back.
What it all comes down to are asshats who lie on their resumes and claim false credentials that make it difficult for hiring companies to quickly and accurately weed through the mountains of resumes.
...about copyright violations to the Japanese, does that mean he will have to disembowel himself or just cut off a thumb when they find out he's full of it?
McBride San, please wash your neck so we can give you our reply.

Talk about bum cakes, my girls got 'em.
Big Bottom drives me out of my mind

But will Babelfish be able to translate it without sounding like Yoda?
My faith in the accuracy of /. polls has been shattered!
Does this mean the Cowboy Neil option didn't really count?

It didn't work for saving Farscape on SciFi.
I guess this means that there will be a new set of annoying pop-up ads replacing the existing set of annoying pop-up ads for x10 cameras.

Please remember to put some flowers on Algernons grave.
flatness measure is the RMS of the discrete slopes
Shouldn't it be called GNU/flatness?
I actually found this solution for a virtual CD-ROM jukebox on http://www.linuxjournal.com
It worked for me in a test environment. I was serving up CD images faster than Hot Grits!

Does that mean that the people who hack the GameCube online games will be part of the "Crack Pipe project?"
And the Death-Star looks like a moon!
That's no moon....It's a space station!
What's the bidding start at?
You must be referring to my MCSE...

Or the one in "Meaning of Life"
Maitre d': Good evening sir and how are we today?
Mr. Creosote: Better.
Maitre d': Better?
Mr. Creosote: Better get a bucket. I'm gonna throw up.
In the Leisure Suit Larry series of games? OK, granted you didn't just kiss the other people in the game but still...
Game servers, both local and overseas, will be blocked from 10.00pm to 6.00am daily from July 15 to Sept 30,
Without the annoying game traffic, it means more bandwidth available for surfing pr0n sites.
