I used to have a mouse similar to the Genius in that picture, but with three buttons. It was an absolute shocker. You had to push so hard to get the buttons to press.
If you have a really high-end setup, (good amplifier, speakers, and room design) consider a good quality external solution to remove the EM noise from inside the computer's case.
Actually, if you have a good enough internal soundcard, you can just use the digital out and avoid any interference from the inside of your computer.
I use my Audigy's digital output to connect it to my HT receiver and I haven't had any problems. Another bonus is that you don't need to find a convenient spot to put the breakout box. Why waste space when you don't have to?
Say I give you two images where a portion of one on the edge is identical to a portion of the other on the opposite edge. I want to stitch these together to get one big image which seemlessly overlaps the two?
Doesn't anybody find the first paragraph of the article a bit optimistic?
By mid 2004 at the latest Linux will be a serious contender on the average desktop.
Whooah! Slow down there, buddy. We have a decent OS going, but it still lacks a few things which won't come easy (fonts, easy configuration, changing resolution, unified base)
Then the author continues,
The downfall of Windows won't be imminent (that will take another couple of years at least)
Now he's predicting that Linux will cause the downfall of Windows in just a couple of years?!
To me, this seems more "interesting" than his assertion that Linux needs a unified installation base, and whatever he may have had to say about Debian (I didn't read the article).
yes, you're right. It is the history! Any ideas about what can be done to fix this problem?
Apart from clearing the history, that is.

Has anybody noticed that Firebird gets progressively slower as your cache increases? I find that when I do a fresh install, the browser is snappy, and generally faster than IE. Over time, however, I am forced to wait up to 5 seconds to load a page from a fast web server only a few hops from me.
Clearing the cache seems to fix the problem somewhat. I also reduced the disk cache size to 5MB. Has anyone else had a problem like this?
This is great news for all music lovers, being a lossless, open-source audio compression algorithm. FLAC is also one of the most efficient lossless codecs.
Ummm, I think that's all I have to say. Let me check, first.
Oh yeah, down with the riaa. and microsoft, too.

It means that as long as Apple retains its current market share, there will be a sizeable portion of internet users browsing the web without IE, which will hopefully result in less browser-specific coding by webmasters.
It's official.
BSD is dying.
The boss told me that if I'm late for work again tomorrow, I shouldn't bother turning up on Monday.
Woohoo! Four day weekend!!
Let's not forget that this is the minister who said that broadband was only for games and porn.
I for one welcome his replacement.

This better not affect squid.
If it does, I can see a number of ISPs going belly up due to the increased cost of traffic.
