  1. If you are THAT stupid..... on Oregon Woman Sues Yahoo for $3 Million · · Score: 1

To have nude pictures of yourself THESE days... you get what you deserve. I can't believe that people are still "outraged" when nude pictures of themselves show up on the web...... Yeah, her boyfriend is responsible for posting an unauthorized webpage, but she is just as responsible for probably providing him with the photos...even if they were stolen. You should have been SMARTER, not to have had someone take nude pictures of yourself!

Boy, doesn't one long for the day when a program fit on a floppy disk...lol Hard drives became bigger, programmers got lazy and quit optimizing code....that and the marketing guys want the software out the door, before it is truely ready... One hand washes the other. Faster processors and bigger hard drives cause programmers to add "features" and then the marketing group tells the public the software will be ready by XXX, then the programmers are handstrung to get it out the door, regardless whether or not the software has been optimized, or ready. I pretty much do my upgrades based on Adobe releasing a new photoshop version. With each version, they add more and more bloat(features) which suck the life out of a PC, requiring me to upgrade to something faster.

  7. That's nothing on Gordon Moore: Moore's Law is Dead · · Score: 2, Funny

Heck, we have laws in this country that were passed less than a year ago that have been broken already LOL.... I remember when I was a kid, someone printed in the local newspaper some "old obscure" laws of our town still on the books. One was that during the week of the fair, you had to walk your vehicle (horse and buggy) across the railroad tracks. Well, me and my buddies figured if it was a law, we sure didn't want to break it. We got a couple long pieces of rope, tied it to the front bumper of my moms car (back then cars had these heavy things on the front and rear of the cars called bumpers). When we were making the circle around town, everytime we came to the railroad tracks, we'd put the car in neutral, jump out and pull the car across the railroad tracks. It was pretty funny the 3 times we did it....but on the fourth the cops showed up and asked us what the H*LL we were doing. We told him walking our vehicle across the tracks like the law says. Needless to say, he didn't see the humor in that....

  8. Scrap the d**n thing! on The Shuttle Mission No One Wants · · Score: 1

I use to be a big supporter of NASA, back in the days of the 60's and 70's, but since the Challenger, I would rather they scrap the shuttle. It is just too much for the bloated idiots at NASA to keep running. The glory days of NASA are over. With tightning budgets, they just can't keep up. There is too much waste, as with most government run operations. There really isn't any accountability for them to do a good job. The guys on the line, for the most part, do a good job, but their management stinks. Go back to expendible launch vehicles

  9. Re:Crap music on Music Industry P2P Claims Dismantled · · Score: 3, Interesting

I haven't bought a CD in over 2 years. Why? Well, I'm old (46) and most of the bands that I listened to when I was younger aren't around anymore. That coupled with the fact that I bought an XM adapter for my stereo....I don't listen to CD's much anymore. I get a GREAT variety of music, news, comedy on XM without having to fumble through CDs. I have nothing against the "rap, hiphop" ilk (I have a personal problem calling it music). If that is what you want to listen to, more power to you. But I don't care for it. When you go to a music store, that is all you see....I guess it sells. You sure do hear it when you don't want to though.....seems every 4th car has that stuff cranked up so loud you can't help but hear it LOL

  10. Electoral College on Al Gore Invents Internet TV · · Score: 2

Obviously you need to go back and read from the constitution what the electoral college is and quit relying on what your liberal teachers tell you. The electoral college was a great idea our founding fathers came up with. This gives an equal share of the outcome of an election to small states or large states based on population. Without the electoral system, there would be NO NEED for any politician to ever visit "flyover" country. They would spend all their time in: California, Florida, New York, Illinois, Texas and a couple of other states, where the bulk of the population resides. The other states in the union would not receive any representation, since they have "too few" people. The electoral college prevents that from happening.

  15. just like cigarettes! on California Wants GPS Tracking Device in Every Car · · Score: 1

To a degree, it is just like the cigarette taxes. They want to "increase" the tax on cigarettes to "fund healthcare" bla bla bla....what happens? More people quit smoking, so there is less revenue coming in. So, now they try to get more people to drive more fuel efficient vehicles to save on fuel, now they aren't receiving enough revenue from the fuel, because people aren't using enough. Their answer? Tax them per mile driven. The end result is more people will take public transportation, ride bikes, put off or stop going to the beach etc... Less revenue will come in as a result. What's next then? Taxing us for NOT driving? LOL.... Typical......government can NEVER EVER do without, but they expect us to.

I keep everything up to date, and sit behind a firewall. Yes it is a pain, but if you DO NOT keep your (PC) computer up to date, it will get hosed. Would I switch to a Mac, or Linux? Yes, if the software I use at work was written for those.....but, it isn't. I don't play games, to that argument doesn't bother me. If the "entire world" had BPL, then the noise levels from current technology (BPL) would have made it impossible to get these messages out. Current BPL technology pretty much kills a lot of the HF bands that are used for worldwide communication. I'm all for the advancement of anything that will allow better (cheaper) forms of broadband, but not at the cost of killing a form of communications that helps in time of need. Amateur radio ops are always having "training" sessions where they take everything required to carry out communications without any form power from a utility company. They use batteries, generators, solar power, home made antennas etc, to make sure they can do it, IF called upon.

By the time I get to the airport 1-2 hours early, then take another 1-2 hours when I get there, to get my luggage, find a cab and get to the hotel, screw it, I'll just drive, and I won't be stuck using a cab to get around. Now add to that these idiots that can't go for a few hours without using their cell phone or laptop, coupled with the way they squeeze you into an airline seat, it's no wonder people don't want to fly.

I'm not saying it would be completely IMPOSSIBLE, but, at least on our machines, any attempt to defeat the "black box" renders the machine unusable. We have two types of color copiers. photo type, and business type. The photo types are 8 and 16 bit color, the business types are 2 bit color (good enough for spreadsheets, line art etc.... The full "photo" color machines will LOCK OUT if you copy money etc..., the business types will print blank prints. There was one story where a church copied something that used a close color of money green on the original and it locked up, requiring the manufacturer to show up to unlock it. We don't have the code, only a few do.

Anyone in the business of repairing any full color laser printer, photo copier etc, is usually told of this in certification class. At least it is when I go to school on these. On our full color copiers & printers, they specifically tell us that if you attempt to make a color copy of any "money" it will lock up, requiring a phone call to unlock it, and a visit from someone in a black suit and dark glasses LOL. We make a blank copy, and get out a high power loop, and you can see the faint yellow microdots that contain the information. A few years ago, some idiot bought a full color copier, and started on one end of the country, driving to the other end passing off phony money. When the treasury agents got the copies, they looked up the serial number and traced it back to the dealer who was more than happy to supply the information, and they got the guys vehicle info (he wasn't smart enough to fudge his name, etc when he bought it) and they caught up with him, with the machine in his van, and loads of fake bills. Personally, I don't care if they put serial numbers on this, you can't see them anyway, plus, if you are STUPID enough to forge documents, you deserve what you get!
